我下的两个订单，raleigh state farm的已经confirm了，但是cary的那一个bushel他
们说明天才能confirm availability，因为“订的人实在太多”而他们抓到的#2#3的又
不够，所以明天会打电话给我。但是半个bushel应该是有的——只是就要60，而不是50
了。我说还是等明天再决定是不是要。
现在统计的情况如下，看大家愿不愿意怎么合并一下？其实我们现在大概正好1.5个
bushel，如果之前说要但是没有在google doc里面登记的几位的确不要了的话。

发帖数: 502 | 10 第一次走长途的经历仍然留在大学的时候，完成在天安门排练已经是深夜，地铁和公交
都停摆了，跟同学沿着长安大街走回家的，估摸着25公里左右吧。
这个慈善义走的受益者是Melrose Home - Children's Aid Society的孩子们。一般而
言，在新加坡生活的孩子们是幸福的，大部分孩子们的主要压力就是学业，吃喝不缺，
突出的一点就是旅行经历丰富。然而，最近因缘巧合，我有机会了解到生活在这里不幸
的孩子们，他们来自低收入和离异家庭，也有孤儿，有不少不得不在收养所生活成长。
我是跟另外3个同事组队参加这个长途义走的，比10公里长，比100公里短，选择走西线
路线（参见下面的路线图）。
比较起长途奔跑和徒步行走的不同，他们使用了不同的肌肉群，走下来的感觉虽然没有
跑全马那么悲惨，但肌肉的疲劳感是有异曲同工处的。平时根本没有训练长途行走，而
上一次行走记忆根本没有丝毫的警示感，呼吸和体力分配没有任何的策略可言，全凭拼
体力了。加上第3个报道点后剩下的5公里路程不得不在夜幕降临的雨天完成，12个小时
的天气从多云到晴朗到下雨，我们也从擦防晒霜、戴墨镜遮阳到雨衣、雨伞、拖鞋的一

小，没上学。
本人挺喜欢教书，但是担心一个人带两个孩子在Raleigh压力会不会很大；但是又考虑
到老公毕业后Raleigh机会比较多；纠结啊... Raleigh的学校让下周一前给答复。 |

拿到这两家的offer。以下简称Q和N。
都是senior hardware engineer。
N做CPU的FPGA emulation，Q做CPU逻辑设计和验证
N做Tegra， Q做Snapdragon
N在湾区， Q在北卡Raleigh
N给15W， Q给13W （前三年平均，包括所有东西，税前）
N不大愿意走EB1B， Q说如果律师觉得CASE强，就走EB1B
另，LD马上毕业，也要找工作。
何去何从，还真有些犹豫。大家给点意见吧，谢谢！

？费用如何算？有校车接送吗？
2.woods charter school 是抽签决定的， 但是必须要住在 Chapel Hill 吗？
3.如果在 CARY上班的话， 孩子想去好的学区， 只有去 Chapel Hill 和 West Carry
吗？ 能住在Raleigh吗？
4. 看起来有一个 Charter school 在Raleigh 也不错， 叫 Raleigh Charter， 也是
抽签决定的吗？有居住区的限制吗？ 一定要住在 Raleigh ?
5. 还有一个学校好像叫 Enloe 又是怎么回事？属于Cary地区？

也头疼.

发帖数: 73 | 35 我在南加州工作了四年，老婆毕业在VA州靠近NC的一个城市找到了教职，明年1月入职
。目前大宝10个月，二宝预产期今年11月。因为VA州的这个城市非常小，对中国人很不
方便，所以不适合居住。现在举家搬迁有下面三个选择：
1. 搬家去Raleigh。我们公司在Raleigh靠近Cary有个RTP Research Center，所以我换
工作过去不难，这样的话老婆工作地距离Raleigh有2.5小时。每周可以回家一两次。
2. 搬家去DC。我需要在DC重新找一份工作，找工作难度应该不是很大。老婆工作地距
离DC约3个小时。估计只能每周末回一次家。
3. 搬家去Richmond。同样我需要在Richmond重新找一份工作，难度比在DC找工作要大
一点，但也不是不可能。这样的话老婆工作地距离Richmond只有1小时。可以每天回家。
目前我们比较倾向于选择1.
另外，我们从来没有在北卡地区生活过，对这里很不了解。最近一直在版上潜水观察但
是也没特别多的信息。不知道RTP的公立教育（小学初中高中）和南加州比较好的学区
比较哪个更好？另外，南加州华人众多，气候晴朗干爽，我跟老婆都是北方人，对南加

发帖数: 2623 | 39 去年早早就报了Long island marathon。我一直没时间好好练，4月跑了raleigh rocks
半马之后就决定改全马为半马了。四月里出差了一周，七七八八的借口，一共就跑了3
，4次的样子，最长一次9mile，还是比赛前一周临时加的。周六一大早做火车到纽约，
中饭晚饭见了两拨朋友，晚上快10点才到了wordpress家，发现姐姐和弟弟都没睡觉激
动的在等客人进门。欣赏了姐姐的钢琴和弟弟的舞蹈，连连感叹wordpress教子（教女
）有方。wordpress的夫人也谈的一手好钢琴，真是多才多艺的一家！
周日一大早5点起床，wordpress开车带我们去长岛。这是我第三次跑长岛的course，前
两次经历都不太美好。这次是名副其实酱油跑，心情很轻松。起跑以后9分半的pace也
不觉得太累，心跳160多，心想状态还不错，最近一次训练160心跳可是10分半的pace。
5mile以后就觉得持续不了pace了，一点点开始放慢。坚持到9mile以后开始一mile一
mile的数着跑，既不算太累也不算太轻松的酱油吧。最后1mile开始来劲，跑了9分的

marriage to its constitution, with voters banning same-sex marriage and
barring legal recognition of unmarried couples by state and local
governments.

机构的intern经历，以前没有工作经历。
之前还没开始投简历的时候，就受邀直接参加了9月中旬的Qualcomm Destination Q Ra
leigh的50+人的群殴onsite，当时面的是CPU ASIC Design，结果被证明完全是被拉过去
凑数的，因为自己根本就不是搞CPU Design的。
刚Onsite完Raleigh还没出结果，就投了San Diego的一个比较match的Hardware的Posit
ion，投完三天后就接到Phone Interview通知，接着就是漫长的每隔一周的两轮Phone
Interview，然后onsite面了6个人完后，又加了两轮Phone Interview，全部都是Techn
ical的，没有任何behavior或智力题。从投简历到紧接着的2轮phone+onsite+2轮phone
，直到拿到offer耗时一个半月～
总的来说作为自己的第一份工作，历时一个半月找工作的过程非常顺利也很幸运，总共

故事，当时看的心猿意马，只可惜理想和口袋的现实差距太大，往往这一阵的躁动随着
时间的推移也就慢慢平淡下来。
这一回机缘巧合，因公办差到北卡Raleigh，查查地图，High Point离Raleigh不过一个
来小时的车程，于是和老板请假一天，想特意拜访一下多年无缘一见的家具城。临走前
请示LD，问需要买什么，LD说，家里的破烂都堆满了，唯独少个茶几配新买的沙发，你
就去买个cocktail table吧，如果不超重的话，也许可以顺手扛回来。
忙完公事的最后一天，一大早，我睡眼朦胧地开在Raleigh郊外熟悉的四十号康庄大道
上，看着两旁的郁郁葱葱，不又不感慨一句黄国伦的老梗： 十年，是一种很玄的东西
。。。
按下一路不表，随着GPS的指引，终于开到了High Point附近的Jamestown， 时间有限
，来之前又重温了一下北卡买家具的经典文献，把目标锁定在Boyles和Furnitureland
South 两家 (注，另外一家Rose Furniture 2006已经倒闭了)
