唐世平的跨界经历“匪夷所思”：他大学学地质，作为生物男曾研究癌症，却转身指点

第一次听到“唐世平”这个名字，是在2008年他从新加坡南洋理工大学被引进到复旦大

其实他们说的话也有些道理，他们说现在系里的IR教授没有人做Game Theory的，如果我
想做这个题目就必须去请外系的老师做main advisor，如果是这个样子，那么将来在IR的
job market上就不会很competitive；另外，在IR里面搞中国历史研究似乎从现在的Job
Market上看还是比较有优势的，他们举的是那个写《Cultural Realism: Strategic
Culture and Grand Strategy in Chinese History》的Johnston，他们说Johnston声称
研读了所有中国的古代经典（诸子百家），因为美国没有其他人做这个，所以不得不相信
他说的是真的，而中国人做这个由语言上的天然优势，肯定会比美国人做的好。。。
不过我现在还有不少时间，可以再多想想。。。

Theoretical approaches: according to Lakatos, it's theoretically degenerative
to use different paradigms to explain different questions, i.e. you should not
use liberalism to explain peace while using realism to explain wars. A
theorist should be consistent and sticks to one paradigm and then improve the
paradigm according to scientific research program, i.e. you get some
assumptions,and then derive some testable hypotheses, and then use empirica |

，申请学校的时候还把比较政治和国际关系给弄混了 //blush
我们本科的课程，基本上没有讲过国际关系理论，只有一个学期，从LSE来了一个外教
，算是讲了一些IR的基础理论，譬如Realism 和 liberalism 什么的。相对来说比较重
视的方面是 外交史，外交惯例（operational code 之类的东西）与外交文书，国际法
，公文写作，还有就是一些地区性的研究譬如西欧，日本，中东什么的，不过不是
theoretical的，只是描述性的，然后就是外语了。。。

战一结束，大家就开始积极给 Neorealism 送葬，结果 Waltz 老人家不顾高龄，又写

照Wendt的观点都可以看作是tacit (scientific) realist，Waltz 与 Keohane 并没有
在Scientific Realism 这方面表现出有任何的异同，相反地，Keohane很大程度上接受
了 Waltz 的对理论评判的标准，也就是Lakatos式的 Scientific Research Program。
在 《Neorealism and Its Critics》这本书里，Keohane就是用这样的标准来评价
Waltz的新现实主义的。2003年Colin Elman 编辑的《Progress in International
Relations Theory: Appraising the Field 》，Keohane仍然用Waltz的标准 rewviwe
了 Institutional Theory as a Research Program，而这本书的前言是 Waltz 写的，
重申了Lakatos的评判标准。所以就根本的哲学基础来看，Waltz |

了，但是这个问题太大了，虽然有不同的流派，但是没有一个流派给出的解释比较令人
满意的。。。不过不少解释都是受realism的影响，看重 power （in realist sense）
，而忽略国内政治的。
呵呵，就我看中国现在不该嚷着“和平崛起”，离global hegemon 还差得远呢，这么
早的吆喝不是自找麻烦么？还是韬光养晦，有所作为吧，好像国内现在也不怎么提“崛
起”了，前阵子社科院的老王也发了篇文章说不能再提崛起了，据说他现在是胡锦涛的
首席ＩＲ智囊，呵呵。

发帖数: 7244 | 19 呵呵，我觉得这个 project 太大了，2个小时时间太少了，把历史讲一遍，留下来作理
论分析的时候就没多少了，不过赵老师分析历史的角度还是很不错的，他 code 了春秋
战国的战争，把这段历史划分为 Age of Hegemonic War,Age of Transition and Age
of Total War，认为 international norm 逐渐瓦解，在 Age of Total War 形成了一
个典型的 Hobbesian Anarchy。
（这一点就国际关系而言是相当重要的，因为 neo-realism 虽然提出了一个 anarchy
的观点，但是从开始就被人用欧洲历史批判,Wendt 后来把它具体细分为 Hobbesian,
Lockean, and Kantian Anarchy，但是对于 Hobbesian Anarchy，很难找到一个很好的
例子，而中国历史就是这样的一个例子。）
因为没有 norm 的约束，国家陷入了持续的战争；同时由于没有复杂的 ideology 譬如
nationalism，又使得最终的统一成为可能，而秦国独大的局面又加速了这样 |

论才能 make prediction / testable hypothesis，方法只是帮助理论进行演绎推导，
举个例子，譬如两种不同的理论， realism 和 liberalism， 对于国家的 preference
有不同的理论假设，方法的意义在于，基于这样的假设，可以帮助理论推导出一系列的
结果，而这些结果在没有 rigorous 的方法支持下是无法获得的，但是这样的结果是否
正确，很大程度上还是你的理论决定的。。。
简单的说就是你通过理论输入设定和初始条件，formal theory 可以帮助你获得结果，
并这个获得的过程在逻辑上是非常严密的，至于结果是否有意义，还是和你的理论关系
更大一些 。。。。 |

called US Appliance to inquire about the VT30 55 in. They quoted me a price

汤唯和梁朝伟的三场床戏不同于一般剧情片里的床戏。有人说李安采用了自然主义
（realism？naturalism？或verismo？）的手法，这当然没错，为广大观众津津乐道的
梁朝伟的阴囊即是明证；但我要说，自然主义绝不是全部，李安不但强调了两位主角性
交“真”的一面，更强调其“假”的一面，也就是整部电影浓墨重彩反复渲染的：“表
演”。
王佳芝是在演戏，投入地演着，这点观众都明白。而演员当然也在表演（表演着“
表演”），这是又一层面的表演。李安把王佳芝和易先生的躯体长时间地拧过来扭过去
弄出各种空间造型，已经超越了自然主义，进入风格化、矫饰主义（Mannerism）的领
域。在我看来，李安对汤唯和梁朝伟双人体操的处理比较接近武打片的手法，两人在床
