unrealistic deadline - but that's only effective if you do it before the

states might sentence him differently. I am sure he will be sentenced to
death penalty at more than one State. As for China, of course he should be
sentenced to death without any ambiguity. We cannot discuss his case without
leaving the bigger context of the law. We might hope that in the long run
China will abolish death sentence, but today it is not realistic.

The truth is the poor family making 20K which is poverty line will not only
not pay tax, but also get quite some money back.
And most family making 100K won't be buying such an expensive house to get
24K mortgage interest and property tax deduction. Because you have to pay a
lot for the principles also, that will not leave too much for other things.
More realistically, 100K earning family's effective tax rate will be about
15% now.

What you say is not right. The bubbles were caused ultimately by loose
monetary policy, and realistically the only fix is there, too.
You may have noticed the savings rate in the US was negative until recently.
That means there was too much consumption and not enough investment,
contrary to your belief that taxes were too little on the investment side.
Rather, the tax on capital was too much.
