我去年搬到了NJ，因为觉得去NY DMV比较方便（在NY上班)，我的车去年就还在NY DMV
register了。但是买insurance的时候没注意，用了我的NJ地址，Geico就给NY DMV报
了cancel insurance。所以今年发现我registration过期的时候去NY DMV renew，他们
说我因为去年没有insurance不让我renew，还要suspend我的registration6个月。我给
他们看geico的proof of insurance也没用，因为他们说只认eletronic confirmation
from insurance company。Geico又不肯发backdated confirmation，说改地址也只能

I just moved from another state to RI, and I want to change my car
registration into RI. have everything current from the other state,
including car insurance with Geico. My question is whether I should change
my insurance state BEFORE I go to DMV or AFTER the DMV registration. I don't
seem to find that info from the DMV website. They just mentioned insurance

here is the process I went through -
1. Inform your car insurance company about your residence change so that
they'll send you a new insurance card reflecting ONLY YOUR NEW RESIDENCE and
nothing else;
2. Bring this new insurance card showing your new residence along with other
required documents to the R.I. DMV to change your car registration to RI
and get your RI plates;
3. Within 5 days you should do state inspection and |

今天去DMV确认了一下，所有的这种plate都应该是两个的
如果只有一个，会得ticket。于是把原来plate卸下来，
交给DMV，得到两个新号码新plate。
于是问题就来了，发现前面没有固定器，装不上去。
谁知道去哪里购买这个固定器吗？
另外，直接把固定器用螺钉钉进车前面吗？
另外，我的车registeration Mar过期，Jan 10网络注册更新
一直没收到新的registeration card。
今天去询问了一下，她说 the card is mailed out on Jan 15。
A lot of persons lost the registration card mail.
所以就从DMV直接拿了registration card. |

INF 1125的表格,可以request一张新的Registration Card,费用是5美元.
不知道这里有没有人比较了解这个的?我是不是只要填这个表,再付上5美元,寄出去就行
了?

记得以前在其他周只要付50左右的registration fee而没有这个license fee.
是不是加州每年renewal都有这个license fee?

Yes, it is painful because you have to pay like $60/year up to 3 years per
payment. You can do it online at www.texasonline.com, mail it, or go to
local county office.
You'll get ticket if your car registration expired for hundred dolloars I
guess.
Don't be confused with vehicle inspection, which is about $40, which you
need to do yearly at some mechanic shop. Your car may fail the inspection
due to various reasons.

inspection的车铺就是给你换那张sticker的(有state inspection标志的车铺才能做）
registration可以邮寄的，交完钱之后会给你另一张sticker,这两张stciker都要按上
面标记的日期更新。你先看看你inspection上的月份，要过了那个月之后做，估计时间
还没有到，现在做就有几个月要浪费了
所以你的车子上面有两个sticker, 一张registration,一张inspection |

来了之后再说吧，有足够的时间。
需要重新申请驾照，通过笔试。但是我是快三个月了才弄的，也没事。
registration可以先弄，不需要有州内驾照就可以换，因为dmv就是要收你的钱嘛！
这里registration fee是和车子价值成正比的。当时就给utah牌照，很快。
老车自己先做好I/M test再去DMV，大概是45块。地址是2800 s 300 多W
如果是去年的新车应该不用了。
保险我们一直用Geico，不用代理，挺好。
SLC对family还是不错的，很安逸，适合养孩子。

我研究了一下MPEP，有点搞不清是不是考过了就算完成了Registration to practice
before the USPTO。当初申请考试填的那个PTO-158 form，有一项 Box 10，Passed
Examination: I passed an examination on _____________. Enclosed is the
required registration fee of $100.00 [37 CFR § 1.21(a)(2)] and a completed
data sheet.
这个是说考完了，通过后，需要再填一次PTO-158，交100刀，才能完成注册吗？由于我
还没有收到official成绩，不晓得PTO会不会详细告知后面的具体操作。先上来问问版
