因为第一次自己动手，耽误了很多时间:
1. release pressure的油泵插头，应该用改锥撬一下，直接拔不出来。琢磨了半天。
2. 发动engin，转了2秒钟就停了，以为没relieve好，又打了一次火，造成浪费电，电池
不行了。幸亏朋友开车过来帮忙，jump了一下。
3. 拔管子的时候，发卡耐心就能弄下来。
4. 固定filter的铁箍听人劝，完全拆下来了。就是拧上去的时候不知道该有多紧。拧到
有声音不敢拧为止，可能有点损坏。问题好像不大，一万mile以后再换了。其实应该边拧
边查是不是活动，不活动立刻停。就怕热胀冷缩，断了就完蛋了，回头再检查一下。
5. 还有一点，拧螺丝前，不管三七二十一WD40先。
高手肯定要说，不就个fuel filter吗，婆婆妈妈的。没办法，我是菜鸟，激动阿。 |

mentioned is as simple as patching the crack with UV-cure epoxy/resin.
However the critical part for windshield repairing is to relieve the
internal stress caused by the cracking, which is usually done by drilling a
small hole at the crack center. If one feels comfortable drilling a hole on
glass, sure it would be a DIY job. Otherwise, think again. |

worry too much.
Having said that, imagine you are on the other side of the table;
imagine you are a busy-like-hell professor who was forced to sit on
the recruiting committee. You set aside some time around Nov 1 (I
used your example), say, Nov 2nd, to go over all the applications.

后来老板嘴欠，说了个小 idea，并 show 我一张显微照片为证。我如获至宝地折腾了
三个月，建管线，搭仪器，找合作伙伴，折腾到最后，愤怒地跟老板汇报：你那张照片
是 artifact，你的 idea 是错的。从此再也不轻信老板的任何 idea 了。
第三年的某个夜里，三四点钟的样子，发了封信给老板，附了三张荧光照片，标题是：
we found it! 老板清早回复：congratulations! i'm much relieved.
所以呢，你老板对你做的，就是再正常不过的 phd training。很可惜的是现在这环境

是昨天我不小心看到了一篇新闻文章，才惊讶的发现其实最早做出来的，有可能是
Wayne State University的潘卓华。虽然他的投稿时间和Deisseroth的类似，但是因为
他是一个没有什么名气的学者，而且他的文章包装得不对，所以他的文章被百般耽误，
最后比Deisseroth的晚了一年才发表。
在2004年底潘就做出了和Deisseroth几乎一样的文章，除了用的细胞略微不同：他做的
神经细胞是从视网膜分离的，而Deisseroth 做的神经细胞是从大脑分离的。然后他把
文章陆续投向Nature, Nature Neuroscience,Journal of Neuroscience，却统统遭到
了拒稿。然后大半年之后，也就是2005年8月份，Deisseroth 的文章发表在Nature
Neuroscience上。潘得知之后，心都凉了。

出哗啦啦的洗脸声。好希望能继续酣然入眠，可是知道我一定要起床了，恍惚间好像梦
见研究生同学，好像我和她在冬天一早起去食堂打饭什么的，心里真是感觉寒冷哪，冬
日清晨，牙齿都要打架！
已经打定主意今天一早起来给他做个简单的早餐。洗蕃茄的时候，LD走到厨房，没料到
我起来了，很有些吃惊，像小猫一般走到我身后轻轻抱住我，像个小孩子一样的撒娇，
嘴巴喃喃低语：“好感动
毛衫，昨天又把领带结好活扣，可以直接拉上拉下那种。Show给LD看的时候，他非常
relieved：结领带难哪！有一次他和老板meeting回来笑的不成：“老板说他也不会结
领带，他让一个朋友给结好活扣，然后自己就拉上拉下就
要忙在坐车坐飞机上，可能会来不及吃饭，昨天烤了一些桃酥，说是桃酥，其实家里没
有baking powder，所以样子不很像的，不过吃起来还好，也是酥酥的。
于是纯手工，时间精力花费很多，可是祖母总是会不辞辛苦的亲力亲为。当时不能全部
体会老人家这一举动包含的叮咛嘱托，给LD准备cookie时不禁又深深的被触动:岁月传

Mental supports cannot change anythings. Told your husband what you think

现在开始你就可以不用再为他纠结痛苦，你应该很relieved。5年其实不算长，估计你
还不到30吧，你这辈子以后还有好多个5年，柳暗花明的机遇随时都有可能出现，不用
过分纠结过去5年的事。估计你是个特实诚的孩子，实心眼，年轻的时候接受点教训也
不是啥坏事，以后长记性别再范同样的错误就行了。
钱的事就等他回美国以后再要，现在离太远不方便。不用着急，他跑得了和尚跑不了庙，更何况现在他也出名了，出于舆论压力他也不会拖着不还。 |
