何曼君老师的书里面没有详细介绍entanglement molecular weight(Me)的概念,
只是在粘度随分子量变化的图中引进了critical molecular weight(Mc)的概念,
即,eta---M^(1) when MMc.
一般而言,Mc=2-3Me.
在整个国内的高分子教学和科研中,
对于Rouse-Zimm Model和Reptation Model的介绍都太少,
当分子量低于Mc的时候,polymer melt可以用Rouse Model (Rouse)描述,
而高于Mc的时候,用Reptation Model (De Gennes, Doi, Edwards)描述。
Reptation Model得到的关于粘度在此区域的分子量依赖性为eta---M^(3),
而不是实验所得的3.4.
这种偏离目前最成功的解释是contour length fluctuations,
即分子链的末断的波动导致Reptation Model中的实际持续链长L有一修正dL.

Reptation model still faces some challenging problems. For very long
chain, de Gennes predicted Stokes-Einstein behavior recovers but nobody
verified yet.
After all, Zimm, Rouse, Reptation and some boundry conditions are the
most successful approach to explain linear monodisperse polymers.

block copolymer根据组成比不同会有miscrophase separation。
从sphere结构cylinderical结构到lamellae结构的变化,
再细致观察,在cylindrical与layer结构之间,
有两个复杂的结构,
一个叫做Bicontinuous,
一个叫做perforated layers (HPL)结构。
其中bicontinuous结构又叫double gyro phase,
也因结构复杂被称为“水管工的噩梦”。
大分子如何运动。
通常三种理论:Zimm, Rouse, and Reptation.
在polymer chain 高于一个临界分子量Mc的时候,
粘度的分子量依赖关系由M^1变化到M^3.4.
Mc通常和一个叫做entanglement molecular weight Me的量有关系,
Mc--2~3 Me.
对于不同种类的聚合物,Me不同。
在形容M>Me的聚合物,通常用Reptation理论,
由de Gennes首先提出tube model and snake-like motion,

Physics来讲的话还远远不够。Wunderlich的上下册的结晶对于高分子结晶是一份
非常经典的著作。而对于不做polymer dynamics的人来讲,de Gennes的那本小册
子已经够用来了解polymer dynamics了,而且在很多高分子物理书里都有介绍
Rouse, Zimm, Reptation theories. |

Tom McLeish做了引言,Grubbs的工作。
经典的Reptation Theory对于monodisperse, linear, flexible polymers很成功,
如何研究环状高分子的运动,还在进行之中,
我还没看到Grubbs的这篇文章,只看到McLeish的Perspective。
在Perspective里面有几篇重要的参考文献。
McLeish和Milner对于特殊形状的高分子的dynamics做了很多贡献。 |

看到以前down的一个北卡的教学用powerpoint,
上面图示已经表明,五十年高分子材料的时代已经过去,
取而代之的是biomaterials, nanomaterials, and biomimic materials.
恍然想起这个我上个月提的话题以及cashine今天姗姗来迟的回应:
高分子科学,你是这个世纪的伴娘科学?
答案很遗憾,是的,它是。
但不意味着它丧失它的重要性。
高分子科学中高分子物理在1940年到1990年50年间已经构建成功,
剩下的人们在围绕reptation model进行对复杂体系的进攻;
高分子化学随着1995年ATRP的一声炮响沉寂多时,
小打小闹着为着所谓“分子设计”“分子裁剪”贡献着一批
又一批可能有用但更可能无用的block copolymer们。
高分子材料领域套着如今材料科学的东风和众多fancy的
名称如nano, 如photonic,如self-assembly,如supramolecular,
如biomimic继续在fancy的杂志上刊登着一些暂时影响因子硕高, |

但很少听到国内有人在做。这里有了解的么?
不过同时,我也感觉,这块理论可做的很少,剩下的,比如 flexible chain 的 tube
