有一个重要原因是SAVE LABOR COST。 DELL是很多学校的VENDOR，尽管价格比别的平牌
高的吓人，只要是通过采购系统，可以节省EXTRA LABOR COST。这就是为啥宁可高价购
买也不乐意花额外的人力物力走采购系统以外的VENDOR。
当然只要提供一个JUSTIFICATIO就可以不买的，例如RESEARC哈需要。
可以不买DELL 就别买啊。。真的是用起来太多毛病了。后悔死了。

，是系里的要求，不是你老板的要求，这一点系里的小蜜足够回答得了你的全部疑问，
你老板只负责research部分，至于你能否毕业获取学位，是系里说了算，也就是小蜜说
了算。老板只能管辖你research的那部分。
1，工作几年以后的，当作新人来对待。全部重新开始。
2，Courses work 根据各个学校各个系，自己来定，多少学分算够,分成几类
1）core courses
2) courses in depth （有些高端专业课只限于PhD参加的）
3) courses in breadth
各个学校各个系要求不一样， top 1的热门专业对breadth要求很高。记得至少两个跨
系的而且满足一定学分量的，不是选一门seminars上课打个瞌睡的那种课时。有些
breadth requirement会给划出有基础课的，那就累多了。
4）定量的weekly seminars一直持续到你毕业
每周至少一次，记住了，至少，通常是每周两到三次左右

在本版潜水半年，受益匪浅。汇报一下找工作的经历。
背景：
EE 电力电子方向 Ph.D, 学校排名一般，国内有2年编程工作经验，但找工的时候基本
可以忽略不计。
过程：
三月初开始找工作，接着四月h1b噩耗传来，由于还没有申请opt，所以不是很沮丧。月
初一个onsite,被6个人轰炸一天，感觉一般，结果被据了（怀疑受到了h1 crsis的影响
）。四月到五月末，停止找工作，反正没有opt,而且H1也没办法提交。
6月初，一家知名企业主动找到我（估计是从Monster),去北卡onsite,大家请注意，关
键部分来了，我自作聪明的要求作presentation,结果聪明反被聪明误，对方以背景不
fit为由，给了据信。6月20日，第3个onsite,师兄推荐的一个跟电磁场软件应用相关的
职位，一共onsite 2个人， 笔试1个小时，presentation 40分钟（要求有大量仿真）
。笔试结果不错，但是被拒，理由是另一个人有几年用过公司软件的经验。至此一共三
次on site 全部fail。6月20日到7月20日，开始focus on researc |

Corportate America中的一员 outside B-B sales person。7年过去了，现在终于迈出

science), according to my lawyer. So if your research area has even lower
citation rate per ariticle than my researc area (such as Computer science or
Mathematics), you can choose to discuss the number of citations when it is
lower than 40.
However, fewer than 20 citations including self-citation might still not be
a good number even for compute science major, I think.

我周日晚上发出去的RL邀请函，周一收到9封同意回函1封rej，接下来两天陆续收到4封
，剩下的过了两周了到现在也没回复，默拒了。其中，有7个独立推荐人来自美国、英国

刚上学，没啥好说的，我的临时老板就是丫，在丫组里呆的不爽，因为还没做实验
，坐在那里，别人在你后面走来走去，你干点什么别人都看得见。后来没上课的时
候我就去图书馆了。丫跑来问我为啥不在它组里。后来我问别的人，没有别的老板
这么问过。既然丫问了，当年我老实，就回去坐着去了。事实上后来发现似乎只有
丫的组办公室是这个格局。丫每天跑办公室比跑厕所还勤。
后来分老板，当年我进这个学校的时候是丫招进来的，我年少无知，看了丫的文章
，JOC,JACS若干，觉得很牛（现在JOC/JACS让我看来废纸都不如），就嘴贱要跟丫
。后来到了选老板的时候，别人说丫tough，我自己觉得一来我早决定跟他，变卦不
好，二来，tough就tough，我能挺过去，就像这里好多人吃亏之前想得一样。这样
我就进了丫的组，从此恶梦开始了。
