retirement plan有两大类：个人名义的IRA和公司名义的401K，两者不冲突，你可以同
时拥有。两种账户都有annual quota，不是你想存多少都行，401K的quota要高很多；另外往账户里投进的钱分pre-tax income和post-tax income，前者就是federal, state tax还没交过的钱，显然你要现在用的话，federal, state未来会盯着你要补交这部分税的；而post-tax就是已经交过了，相当于你手上的现金。

IRA；（2）Roth IRA。
前者是deduct你pre-tax的income，所以降低现有的税，一般工作的人似乎税在30%左右

Vanguard retired funds，过几个月发现账户一直飘红，开始觉得可能是去年年底的股
市动荡导致的，所以去掉了几个stock占主体的funds，再过一个月看还是继续飘红。仔
细分析了一下，发现原来是最以为稳定的target retirement funds 的表现最差，果断
除掉这个坑爹的货。现在过去4个月了，账户表现好多了。
我觉得这种名字上好听的target retirement funds最好看清楚，太坑爹了 |

问一下大家是如何管理的，最主要的如何选择投资？发现rating和YTD这些不怎么靠的
准，YTD高的，可能说明现在处于高点，发现这些retirement公司对于一个funds的
history有点藏着掖着，最好的可以找到1 month，1 year, 根本不让细看。有的则根本
找不到。
我以前没有怎么关注这些，就是选一下TIAA 2030或者Vangard 2030这些比较保守的
fund。好多年前在fidelity开了个roth IRA，以前一直在它的core account，利息基本
为零。两年前也不知道怎么想的，把roth IRA全部投资到FIDELITY SELECT
BIOTECHNOLOGY， 那会其实也被fidelity误导了，把Hypothetical Growth的曲线看成

求助大家，老板愿意帮助办h1b工作签证， 但老板每年会直接将员工20%的工资放入一
个retirement plan, 实发到员工手里只有80%的工资。
假设prevailing wage是100k，老板每年实发80k，另20k由老板直接contribute to
retirement plan.
不知道此种安排是否符合prevailing wage100k的要求？
希望有经验的人可以帮忙解答！

asset，要么是insurance company要么是asset management firm)的复杂pension版本,
payout比pension灵活，VA的话还有很多rider，行内的人都说像fashion show一样一两
年内就淘汰一批出一批新的。annuity算是比较新的产品，各个大保险公司都在竞争市
场，开发产品，建立不同的模型，所以有不少发展潜力。pension可以看成是employer
funded的fixed annuity，当然也有其他payout方式。pension属于retirement plan的
一种，现在还有dc（又包括很多子类）和hybrid plan等等。做DC的话就不是走精算的路了，可以参见ASPPA的网站。
说pension不好是因为pension很成熟，都几十年的东西了，修补很少（虽然06年有PPA
），个人发挥余地很少。pension还有个问题是大公司都在把pension逐渐转成其他

A personal finance website rates New Jersey as one of the worst states for
retirement.
'Wallet Hub' has ranked the Garden State at number 45, with only Kentucky,
Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia ranking lower.
The group looked into each state's affordability, health care and overall
quality of life for retirees.
It recommends Florida as the top spot for retirement. |
