假设Taniyama–Shimura conjecture和Fermat's last theorem 的关系确实是1986年才
被Kenneth Ribet 得到，即Wiles 决定证明Fermat's last theorem 的时间不早于1986
年。
从1986年开始，到1993年Wiles 宣布证明Fermat's last theorem ，其间Wiles 总共只
发表了5 篇论文。参见Wiles 的Bibliography。

做了点文献考证。

发帖数: 743 | 12 这人感觉对数学研究一窍不通。真正做出重大突破的，跟楼主所言恰恰相反，往往是不
但不能给别人提供工作机会，而且是消灭了很多工作机会。相当于把一个有前途的行业
封顶了。能给别人创造工作机会的，从另一方面来说，往往不是最终证明的人，而是之
前当了人梯、提出新方法的。
比如Andrew Wiles证明费马大定理，创造什么工作了？不但没创造工作，甚至有人开玩
笑说他杀了一只生金蛋的母鸡。能创造工作机会的是谷山—志村猜想和Ribet定理，这
些后来都成了Wiles的梯子。
类似的还有Perelman证明几何化定理和Poincare猜想，也没有创造任何工作机会。真正
创造的是之前Hamilton提出证明框架，也成了Perelman的梯子。
老张这个也差不多，之前的Goldston打下了基础，老张完成临门一脚。而且老张的方法
说不定还能继续为人所用，争取把那70M缩到尽量小。不过缩不缩也无所谓了，他的70M
在质数分布角度看来和2差不多，都是一个常数C。
