假设Taniyama–Shimura conjecture和Fermat's last theorem 的关系确实是1986年才
被Kenneth Ribet 得到,即Wiles 决定证明Fermat's last theorem 的时间不早于1986
年。
从1986年开始,到1993年Wiles 宣布证明Fermat's last theorem ,其间Wiles 总共只
发表了5 篇论文。参见Wiles 的Bibliography。

做了点文献考证。

但不能给别人提供工作机会,而且是消灭了很多工作机会。相当于把一个有前途的行业
封顶了。能给别人创造工作机会的,从另一方面来说,往往不是最终证明的人,而是之
前当了人梯、提出新方法的。
比如Andrew Wiles证明费马大定理,创造什么工作了?不但没创造工作,甚至有人开玩
笑说他杀了一只生金蛋的母鸡。能创造工作机会的是谷山—志村猜想和Ribet定理,这
些后来都成了Wiles的梯子。
类似的还有Perelman证明几何化定理和Poincare猜想,也没有创造任何工作机会。真正
创造的是之前Hamilton提出证明框架,也成了Perelman的梯子。
老张这个也差不多,之前的Goldston打下了基础,老张完成临门一脚。而且老张的方法
说不定还能继续为人所用,争取把那70M缩到尽量小。不过缩不缩也无所谓了,他的70M
在质数分布角度看来和2差不多,都是一个常数C。
