because screens on different machines share the same pseudo terminal.
May be you could try always init the screen from the lower res. machine and
then attach from the higher res. one.
This is what I often did when I want to share the screen with other :)
I also want to know if there's a better way to handle this.

ssh remote.host -t screen -RR
登陆。为了能得到新的DISPLAY， 我把上面的改为
ssh remote.host -t "echo \$DISPLAY>.display;screen -RR"
这样新的DISPLAY就存在文件里了。可是screen window里的shell却不能自动更新，需
要手动run
export DISPLAY=`cat ~/.display`
有什么办法自动把新的DISPLAY“推“给已经有的shell吗？ |

看了一下，运行的程序也都被关掉了。Linux下面的screen应该不是这样的吧
另外cygwin的shell不关的话，screen detach之后，程序确实在运行，但retatch不成

有没有用OpenSuse的大虾？我在KDE桌面下，点开始
菜单（蜥蜴头），选择电源按钮，里面有log out,
lock screen,power off 等等，一旦选择了lock screen，
这机器就完旦了，症状就是等logout之后，再想login进
入图形desktop, 机器慢得无法使用，几十分钟才能完
成login过程，然后点一下鼠标需要十几分钟才见反映，
非得重装操作系统。这问题我从10.1到13.2都中过招儿，重
装过不下5次。有没有人遇到过类似问题，可知道解决办法？

a software (frozen). I forgot the
name of this software, basically when it operates, nothing can be saved to
the computer.
The blue screen happens very randomly. Sometimes, 5 hrs, sometimes only 2
mins after the computer
restarts. Recently it gets worse, the blue screen showed every 2 min. I am
so frustrated.
Can anyone tell me if it is due to the software or the hardware? Thanks. |

本人想screen一个老鼠基因的shRNA，从５个shRNA中找到knockdown效率最高的一个shRNA （针对同一个基因）。由于要转化的细胞系比较难转化，准备在一个比较容易转化的细胞系里screen，比如3T3L1等。等筛选到knockdown效率最高的shRNA后，做成病毒去侵染我最后的细胞系。为了偷懒，不想把５个shRNA都做成病毒，请问此方法是否可行？有没有这样做的大狭？

selection, 那有点勉为其难。而是说得到的gene要有功能相关性，最好在一个pathway
，这才说明你的design 很tight, 对后续的研究而言，你也知道在什么方向上。不好的
genetic screen，比如很多人做ENU-induced mutagenesis，然后看老鼠是不是shaky，
等等，你找到的基因可能功能上差者十万八千里。这样做，和偶然发现spontaneous
mutation没什么区别，只不过在时间上更集中而已。所以，phenotypes are not
created equal。好的phenotype (或reporter) 是好的genetic screen 的最重要要素
之一。 |

对这个很感兴趣。读了几篇相关的文章和screening,前面的library--infection--drug
screening--genomic DNA extraction都懂。后面的deep sequencing部分就糊涂了。
理论上讲，resistant的细胞一定是有基因改变了的，我一直以为挑单克隆，一个一个
去作整个genome测序。仔细读了文章，是药物筛选几天后，细胞pool一起，再作deep
sequence；对照没有drug筛选（Non-resistant)的组，找出那些被CRISPR改变了的gene
，再确认。
几个问题：
1。这个deep sequencing是测（整个）genomic DNA，还是测留下来的guide sequence
（在lentiviral vector上面）？
2。可以测mRNA/cDNA序列来代替genomic DNA吗？突变的基因总该表现在mRNA上（先不
考虑其他类型的RNA）。

事情是这样的: 下一年公司的保险要换，给了一些discount（数额还不小），但是要求
做Biometrics screening和Health check，如果不做的话就没有Discount，但不影响
plan。
我查了一下，biometrics screening好像是检查遗传信息（不确定，比如癌症和糖尿病
等）。我的担心是一旦做了这样的检查以后，是不是保险公司能够根据情况调整保费或
者拒保？而且这样的信息一旦有了，估计一生都是如此了，是不是很危险？
BTW:好像美国是全球最大的biometrics information provider。 |

到今天为止还没有收到任何通知，期间打电话給HR询问，告知背景调查跟Drug Screen
都通过了，但还在Under Consideration.
我觉得很奇怪吖，以前的实习跟工作都是先給OFFER再做背景调查跟drug screen的，跟
这个公司完全不同。而且这个公司也没谈薪资的问题。非常茫然啊。到底OFFER还有没
