Suppose I have an object(molecular model) on a flat plane,
I now want roll it on the surface of cylinder, what is the
cartesian coordiantes of the model now? what if the surface
is the scroll, like the surface of a rolled paper?
I am a chemistry major, so the description may not be very clear.
Basically, what I want to do is, roll a crystal plane
to a cylinder or scroll surface. how to do this mathematically?

同样是DI 2 turbo,
不过加了valvetronic来进一步提高经济性跟引擎响应速度
(效果上类似于S54B32上的每缸单独throttle valve)
然后取消了双增压,改用一个twin-scroll增压器,似乎没有可变几何的设计
至少press release上没提.
感觉改用单增压器也就是体积重量成本上有好处,但论性能,
无论从响应还是改装潜力恐怕都不如.twin scroll虽然是能把在进气的跟排气的气缸分开
可根本上还是不如直接twin-turbo来的彻底.

the new 4.4L bi-turbo on the X5 M/X6 M is actually quite interesting
it has two twin-scroll turbos on a cross-plane V8
when BMW introduces the N63, they put the turbos in the V-valley
(reverse-flow design) people only mention that makes the engine more compact
but I felt that shouldn't be the most important reason
now you see the true reason, it allows the twin twin-scroll turbo design on
the new M version:)

比较一下GM 2.0 SIDI和Mazda 2.3 DISI的图片,我个人认为GM更胜一筹:
1)DI方面均属于Wall/Air-Guided,但是GM的155bar胜过Mazda的115bar
2)GM在进排气凸轮轴上各用了一个Vane-Type凸轮轴相位调节器,实现连续双VVT
但是Mazda只在进气凸轮轴上用了。它的图没有显示调节器的内部构造
但是从体积看应该也是Vane-Type(Vane-Type算是第三代VVT)
3)GM的气门动作由滚轮式气门摇臂驱动,Mazda则是直接动作气门挺柱
在这样的中等转速的增压引擎上,使用摩擦损耗更低的滚轮摇臂要更为合理
4)GM通过一条专用的正时链条,把双平衡轴的位置提高到了引擎的中部
这是一个效果更理想的位置。相比之下,Mazda的图中看不到双平衡轴
但是根据资料,它还是有的,所以其平衡轴的位置很可能是在曲轴的下方
这是一个传统的布局方式,但是效果并不是最优化的
5)GM采用了Twin Scroll Turbocharger,Mazda的图中看不出来
但是根据资料它是普通的单Scroll。
不过从图中看,它的排气歧管的确也有类似VW 2.0

结构上最大的差别是排气和涡轮
N63虽然是reverse flow,但实际上并没有利用到这种设计的好处
还是每列气缸各吹一个single scroll
S63的排气是两列混排的,这样可以分出两股均匀的排气,各吹一个twin scroll

STI没有可变几何涡轮啦,不过日规的STI的2.0L的turbo是twin scroll的,美规2.5L引
擎不是
这个新机器我估计是twin scroll的应该
其实你也没有什么遗憾的,等新WRX的话恐怕还得等两年,加上第一年的车最好别买
那就是3年出了去,根本没有必要。到时候你可能都把现在这个操烂了都:)

twin scroll不就是气缸分两组分别吹对方的scroll么,某种程度上已经跟你说的这个
类似了

首先,twin turbo等于有两个压气叶轮,一个twin scroll turbo还是一个叶轮
一个叶轮要达到两个叶轮的压缩效果,实际上重量上是更大的(类似体积对面积的关系)
所以实际上twin turbo转动惯量总和是比一个twin scroll turbo小的
另外一个方面就是排气的路径,尤其是I6,你汇集6个缸吹一个turbo,再怎么弄排气路
径也短不了,换句话说,排气动能损失就多,对于impulse turbo来说,结果是不言而
喻了吧

一个小turbo比一个大turbo转动惯量小是没错,但twin turbo总的转动惯量其实没那么
容易估计
首先,如果r2=1.414r1的话,大turbo压气机转动惯量并不会是小turbo的1.414^3
具体是什么我不会算,但起码叶轮厚度不必也是1.414的关系
我们姑且算大turbo的压气机转动惯量大于两倍的小turbo吧,但是一个twin scroll
turbo在涡轮这一端以及轴承方面还省了结构重量了呢,两方面相加谁的总转动惯量更
小没有那么直截了当啊
就算是两个小turbo小些,但你转速要求还高呢,这又怎么办呢?
我还是倾向于感觉twin turbo实际上kick in的更晚
不过引擎转速上去后,由于大turbo工作转速低,%head衰得早,所以两个小turbo就后
来居上了
换句话说,一个twin scroll turbo更有利于优化低转扭矩
而twin turbo更适合发挥高转功率

过去Honda在Civic Si这样的车上都能用高转引擎,是因为它有相对竞争优势。早个10
年,同一个市场区间的增压4缸机都不是直喷机,比如VW的1.8T,油耗上并没有比高转
的I4有什么优势,而且turbo lag也比较大,加之很多机型还有可靠性问题,所以Honda
的高转I4有它的比较优势。现在是turbo直喷机的时代了,压缩比已经足够高,turbo的
油耗优势就得以体现。同时随着twin-scroll turbo的流行(即使是single scroll,今
天的turbo排气歧管也都是做了分隔设计的)乃至排气歧管整合进缸盖、水冷中冷等的
技术新趋势,turbo lag控制得比过去成熟得多,turbo相对高转I4的优势也就越来越大
。这不,连Honda也开始为下代Civic Type-R准备turbo直喷I4了嘛,这个趋势基本上不
可逆转了。高转引擎较有希望守住的还是高端的跑车市场。

某人非要说斯巴鲁的FA20DIT的双涡管是一个涡管负责高速,一个涡管负责低速,所以
高低转的增压通吃,理由呢就是wiki一句"Twin-scroll or divided turbochargers
have two exhaust gas inlets and two nozzles, a smaller sharper angled one
for quick response and a larger less angled one for peak performance."
BMW管Twinscroll叫TwinPower,当年买MINI时我也专门研究过这东西到底是啥玩意。

家里新进了一辆F25 X3 28i,这样家里两个车都是用涡轮的了。虽然重量差的太多没法
比,可是引擎的感觉多少可以比较一下,闲扯两句。
N20也算是BMW这几年转型Turbo的拳头产品了,2.0 DI twin scroll turbo。参数网上
有咱就不说了,我感觉turbo lag真的是不明显,输出还挺线性的,更多的时候是变速
器不愿意降挡。42xx磅的车跑起来感觉不吃力。turbo的声音完全听不到,排气的声音
倒是不差,怠速有点柴油的感觉但是坐在车里的话觉得还好。不废油。
EJ255则是非常老套路的涡轮引擎,没有直喷,没有twin scroll,2.5的基础排量加上
一个IHI的大涡轮,turbo启动时候有恐怖的power surge。有turbo的啸叫,低速时候有
那种特低沉的声线。排气没有引擎声音大。只要踩的够狠,那喝油是刚刚的,当然如果
转数控制的好还是有谱的。

日常用EJ257也太老,还记得我以前贴的数据吗?即便和WRX的低输出FA20 DIT比,
EJ257也因为turbo lag的缘故,反应慢太多了,这方面不改直喷+twin scroll turbo
是没办法的事……RS虽然还没实测,但它的2.3T毕竟是Ford第二代EcoBoost了,直喷+
twin scroll turbo都有,再怎么说油门响应也不是EJ257能比的……
不过RS今年下半年才能投产,来美国要明年了,到时候STI说不定也换引擎了,这是个
不确定因素……如果STI换DIT引擎,我还是觉得它略胜半筹的……

其实新S4/5那台turbo V6还是不错的……在那个输出级别,用一个twin scroll turbo
可能比两个mono scroll turbo利大于弊,BMW在类似的区间的新引擎也是做的同样的选
择(B58、N55T0)
另外Audi的新V6独到之处相当多,比如从V8上继承了reverse flow的进排气安排,
turbo因此可以埋在V谷里,而且从新版EA888上借鉴了把排气歧管整合进缸盖的设计,
排气的设计真是紧凑……另外直喷系统也升级了,喷嘴移到了燃烧室中间,应该是和
BMW、MB一样是spray-guided的了,而他家之前的直喷一直是air-guided

boost高的turbo引擎lag肯定会倾向于高一些
不同的turbo方案有自己的适用范围,如果Panamera用单个twin-scroll turbo达到
440PS的输出,lag会比twin turbo更高
反过来,如果S4/5如果非要上twin turbo,lag可能也会更高
