哈坦華埠街上穿著「我們購買黃金」(We Buy Gold)黃色背心的促銷人員也隨處可見。
但是，民眾賣首飾的時候要千萬當心，根據紐約市消費者事務局（Department of
Consumer Affairs，簡稱DCA）近日發布的調查數據，全市接受調查的金店中有76%的店
家在買金（gold buying）時存在違規行為，比如低估重量或成色等，惡意壓低首飾的
價值。消費局局長明茲提醒賣首飾者要「貨比三家」。
消費局調查人員在暗查時，用三件金首飾進行售賣，這三件金飾經過獨立估價應值590
元。但調查員到金店假意售賣時，多數金店都低估其值，估價從175元至450元不等，而
