server, 只是向外面发信，重来不受信，也不可能有 mail relay。
很多 server 就是不收那我也没有办法。我可以肯定我自己的机器
没有被 hack, 也没有 spam 别人。就是网段不对，别人 server 返回
的 error message 里面都说了。
gmail 很多服务还不符合 RFC 规定呢，还不是一样跑。 |

sendmail server 会碰到什么样的问题。所以我建议 LZ 尽可能用 ISP
提供的 smtp server。这是本着帮点忙出发的，你叫我去读什么协议的东西

这个 ISP dynamic IP blacklist 不是个别例子，我只是举了一个例子，
但是由此得出结论这是个别例子也是荒谬。这个是个非常普遍的现象，

老老实实告诉你有这个情况，不知道这个会破碎了你的理想中的行业标准。

我觉得你的表达很清楚，但是逻辑有问题。你说 yahoo，gmail 有特殊性，我可以
同意。你的逻辑简化为
1）gmail 做了不规范事情（这个太难查，我先假设有）
2）gmail 做了 B
3) B 就是不规范事情。
除非你说的 gmail 做的所有事情都是不规范的。这个明显和直觉是违背的。
"任何IP都是生而平等的," 所以由此可以推导出 firewall 是没有必要的？
大家都平等嘛，还要什么特殊待遇.
我都说了 N 遍了。这些用户和 ISP 的合同就是在这些 IP 不提供向外链接的
MTA。ISP 有专门的 smtp server 为自己的客户发信。这样做也是保护用户，
因为减少别人 hijack 这些 IP 的用处。consumer IP 不是一个精确的定义，
但是我相信你知道我指的是什么，在这里就是不能向外 MTA 的 IP。

你确定这个说的是我而不是你？给点论据事实看看？
我看到的是，你自己问我 sendmail IP 被 block 的事情，自己说这个
是违反协议。不但拿不出事实依据来，我给你找出了 RFC 还要嘴硬，
完全不谈 RFC 上面的事情。东扯西扯一大堆反正你就是对的。你不是
喜欢引用 RFC 么，干嘛不直接引用个 RFC 一锤子敲定不就完了么。
你说的论据都是不能 Verified 是什么道理？
我知道我懂得不多，所以还是事实求事去查 RFC， 如果我错了，我希望搞明白
我错在什么地方，好更正我自己的理解。我承认我有好胜心的一面，但是你连
你自己总觉得永远都对的都不敢承认。说人家违反规定的不是你？死活拿不出
证据的还不是你？
你是想说 “我整天读 RFC, 懂得比你多多了，这个问题我没有道理讲不过你，
我就不和你这种无知的人讨论了。反正你们无知的人也讨论不出什么。”
这个我也可以明白。谁说我不能站在你的角度思考问题呢？

server was setup).
The mail server is only used to send email to interested people when
something happened. So for the mail server, I only need it being able to
send email, that's all. The action of sending email is invoked from Java
mail api.
Anybody suggests a better and simpler solution for this? Is sendmail too big
for this? Thx. |

以前架过postfix的服务器，也用过php sendmail, 但经常被当作spam, 各种小问题不
断。
这次装了nodemailer配合gmail smtp, 在localhost没问题，在digital ocean上就不能
登陆gmail。今晚打算试试nodemail + sendgrid。似乎是node上最理想的免费方案？
其实真的很希望能够有个简单免费的方案，当年搞godaddy的时候，注册一个domain,
email方面就不用担心了。 发信/收信/web mail/smtp一条龙服务。不过后来被当spam
的情况也不少。
现在用google domain注册了一个网站和digital ocean的服务器, 想搞个免费的admin@
domain.com发信收信还真的不容易。 |

sendmail, ...
2.2 patch the daemons you will use: wu-ftpd, rpc, samba, bind, etc

2.3 set up firewall: ipchains(kernel 2.2) iptables(kernel 2.4)
2.4 use ssh/scp to replace telnet/ftp
2.5 security auditing: check system log, use tripwire, install
snort, etc. |

已经被黑了。然后我发现root上一次登录的时间变成了Oct. |

Use a normal user account to login from remote, and su to root
for sysadmin.
For security reason, ssh is highly recommended. With ssh, you
can directly login as root.
Let you registed domain name pointing to your current IP or
original FQDN. Setting up DNS server. Setting up webserver.
Just configured sendmail for a fresh install of solaris 2.8
in i386.
The only thing I need to do is change the smart relay host.
Find the line in /etc/mail/sendmai.cf, and begins with DS.

That will tell you about sendmail.

1. netstat -an | grep 25 (make sure smtp is running on your server)
2. ping serverip from other computer, make sure the connectivity is good
3. Check your ipchains or iptables settings, and see if it blocks the smtp
traffic. (type 'ipchains -L' or 'iptables -L' to list the existing rules) |

port number. You should check the config of your mail server to see if it
accept www.mydomain.com as local relay server (in sendmail, it's local-host
-names). Probably your mail server only accept mail to mydomain.com, not

DNS服务,但是至少你要指定一个外部的DNS给服务器上的各种服务使用. 否则你的
邮件服务器怎么知道如何送信呢?
另外一个可能考虑的地方是关掉Sendmail反向域名查询的功能, 这样可能带来
一些伪造地址的邮件. |

I checked, and the one mensioned in man page, the /var/...
one is not even there.
