在看看国防部长昨天咋说的，军方要被消减 $46 billion this year, Furlough 将节
省$5 billion. 其他地方再节省下一些，也就剩下 大约$38 billion. 其中２０％在
大华府地区，也就$7 billion.
$7B/$200K = 35,000 (裁员数）。
加上其他部门的，也就Ｄｂｏｕｂｌｅ，跟 Stephen Fuller说的465,000差远了。 |

在班上看了太多太多劝退贴，自怨自艾贴了。最近别的版讨论EE和CS，学生物的居然又
躺着也中枪，实在气不过上来说几句。
我本科在一个985学校学EE，该校偏工科，EE是老牌比较强的专业，历来毕业生就业出
国情况都不错。我中学喜欢数学物理，搞数学竞赛，所以学起来数电模电自控什么的都
比较得心应手。但是后来还是决定改行学生物。为什么？我的想法很简单。人就活这一
辈子，对我来说我不想这辈子就是用人家创造出来的东西拿来给这个公司设计个电路或
者那个工厂搞搞单片机什么的。我想去探索未知的领域，我想去发现别人不知道的东西
。而我觉得人类文明发展最重要的探索就是一个向外对宇宙的探索一个向内对自身生命
奥秘的探索。
转行的过程很痛苦，因为我不想用以前的数理背景去搞生物信息之类的交叉方向想搞纯
生物医学研究，所以还多花了三年时间读了个分子... 阅读全帖 |

you can do it yourself in shallow water near the beach such as lagoons, and
snorkel as long as you wish. I did this in Hanauma bay, oahu. It looks like
a park and there are life vests, snorkels, mask, and fins for rent. Life
guides all around. But some places in Maui are sequested and do not have any
commercial stuff to offer. Even no restroom surrounded. |
