choice is between those two firms' NY office.
Thompson is a 2nd tier player in TX while Shearman is a V15 firm.
Hours is longer at Shearman for sure(definitely less than 70-80 hours)but
pay is better.
Working at Thompson might give you a less miserable life. |

近代学者与维新名人梁启超极力推崇洋务派代表李鸿章，并为之作传。《李鸿章》这本
传记里有不少章节言及李秀成，一提及时即是一连串的好评：“聪慧明敏，富于谋略，
胆气绝伦。”
论及当时李秀成的功绩则说：“故洪氏未叶，得以扬余烬簸浩劫，使官军疲于奔命，越
六七载而后定者，皆秀成与陈玉成二人之力也。玉成纵横长江上游，起台飓于豫、皖、

国高，难道等同于一枝独秀？比如美国的ppp是$1,中国是$2,难道中国的partner就高枕
无忧了？
我的意思是，对那些想转行的人，告诉他们法律界日子不好过是对的，但是这并不等于
说法律比其他行业更糟糕，在现在经济形势下，哪个行业日子好过?难道yahoo和
microsoft没有大量裁人？难道投行没有？难道生物postdoc找不到工作不是一个长期的
老大难问题？如果经济危机对各个行业的影响大致相当，在讨论要不要转行法律的时候
，我们大可以把经济危机的影响忽略。
如果说这次经济危机对律师们有什么新的启示的话，那就是shearman因为裁人到大
家唾弃的时代可能一去不复返了。
至于回中国，我的意思是对于一个母语是中文，在中国至少上过大学的人来说，中国是
职业发展的最佳选择。中国人在国内成为partner很难，可是难道在美国就容易?在国内
作法律需要搞关系，可使难道在美国就不用？现在经济危机在中国找到一个位置很难，
可是难道在美国就容易？Expat可能朝夕不保，可使有工作难道不比被裁掉更好？

现在国内北京上海这样人也一大把.你是无论知道不知道都要满嘴跑一下火车的那种人,
