发帖数: 590 | 11 你讲的是OSB吧。主要是做房顶和外墙的sheathing用的, 换了也就是7-8刀per square
feet. 因为便宜，所以用的多。 从前的code不要求sheathing, 所以抗震能力反而不如
用便宜材料的新房子。Stud, plate, post, beam这些还是要用真木料的，不然无法通
过inspection. （framing完成之后inspector是要来看的）
老房子的木料的确质量好一点，适当保养，assuming no water and termite damage,
住个80-100年应该没问题。新房子的木料生长周期短，很多studs有弯的有疙瘩，也就
是给你住个30-40年左右。不过大多数人也住不了那么久。
建筑材料是一分钱一分货, 好的木料肯花钱也能买到。如果builder有在建的房子，自
己可以走进去感受一下。打折很多的新房子，估计材料好不到哪里去。这两年的市场，
虽然人工成本下降了，原材料成本一直在上升。所以builder要有的赚，不是地买的超
便宜，就是材料上打折扣。

Structural Insulated Sheathing,一种是STYROFOAM™ Brand DURAMATE™
Plus Insulation。那个SIS似乎网上看用的人家还挺多的,虽然手按上去板会弯,但是里
面的那层似乎还是挺结实的,手指按不太出痕迹。另外的很多地方装的是duramate，感
觉就是泡沫塑料,手指随便一扳就扳下一块，指甲随便一压就刻出很深的划痕迹，估计
手指一捅就能把这sheathing捅穿了。房子的大部分区域,wood frame外面就是一片
duramate包上tyvek wrap，vinyl siding就是外墙了,感觉这种外墙完全没有任何强度
啊，这样弄出来的房子不就象帐篷一样的,结果这里人号称一拳打穿的drywall还是整个
墙中最结实的部分了.我是服了,还是top national builder呢,估计这里的很多朋友都
是住这家建筑商造出来的房子的。 |

说一下P226的擦枪推荐：厂家推荐TW25B，所以分别买了TW25B的grease和oil（oil叫
MT2500），cleanser用的是Hoppe Elite，没的说了，No. 9的味道实在受不了。

这个靠谱，现在老式的cap filler（就是那种会自己涨大的发泡泡沫塑料）会被老鼠咬
破，新的不知道是有毒还是味道不对，能防虫蛀鼠咬，还故意调成滤色，很恶心的样子。
不过，这事儿还是没有一劳永逸的法子。如果真的很在意的话，每年还是要沿地下室墙
检查一下所有的墙板就是sheathing那部分，把缝隙都再堵上。居版曾经有房东来问，
发现房客这么做了的，怀疑人家想室内种大麻，呵呵，其实堵上缝也省点热不是。 |

(including plywood sheathing). The contractor broke the ceiling in my master
bedroom. I saw how he repaired it. Basically, you need to take down the whole
4x8 drywall off and replace it with a new one. You need to use drywall screw
to screw the drywall on the wood frame, then use some drywall tape to seal,
then you need to apply plaster. I remember the contractor came 3 times because
he had to wait until the previous c |

to remove parts of exterior sheathing and need to cut a big enough hole
between each pair of studs you want to add insulation. The final result
depends highly on which technique you use as well as the experience of the
installer. Your situation could be easier because there is nothing in your
exterior wall. It will be worse if there is some but insufficient insulation
which can sometimes block the insulation material you |
