and take random jobs once in a while. While all the rest of us climb with
long-sleeve shirt, he led off-width shirtless (pants on though) without
even taping, and came off without any obvious scrach on him...sick.

recovery, 9 mi total. What I found was that "butt-kicking" does not work. It
actually slows me down. The reason is that it slows down my leg turnover,
and as I drove my legs with 2/2 breathing, my breathing also slowed down. In
running, to go faster, you just have to breathe faster. There is no
shortcut. When I started to focus on paw-back and breathe faster, my pace
dipped under 5:50, which felt good.

not be the choice. To my understanding, butt-kicking mainly
helps push back the strike point, but it should help increase
the stride too. So for the same cadence, increasing stride should
help increase the speed.

me. I would need to raise my knees high and have fast leg turnover at the
same time, which is difficult to last

Anything less than BQ will be a failure.
There certainly have been people who run the marathon without drinking water. They may either end up dead or hospitalized. I'm not sure what the percentages are. |

including some at 90+F weather. The racing condition will be relatively cool
-- should be around 50 at the start and under 70 by the time I finish. Also I will not need to worry
about humidity, which is good. |

you run 20 miles in the summer weather expect to bring at least three
bottles of water. I would run loops and put the water bottles somewhere on
the loop. |
