发帖数: 114 | 26 继上次发现faculty search committee的名校情结外，最近又有一个新的认识。
看了几个学校的shortlist，发现5、6个来面试的，除了1个拿到offer，其他的几个人
超过半数都最终在其他地方拿到了offer。当然也可能是拿了几个offer，选了一个最合
适的。
相比较于每个opening都有数百份的求职者，这个充分说明job market上只有少数的一
群人到处都能玩得转，手握一堆onsite interview或者offer，而大多数人都成了分母
，什么都没有。从而也进一步说明，一旦拿到onsite，也就意味着离（在这里或者那里
）拿到offer不远了。
请不要argue我的统计样本太小。我只是看了近几年几个地方的名单，有感而发。
也不要argue我怎么才知道，新警察，请多多包涵！ |

那进shortlist之前呢，就要看亮点了。亮点不外乎以下几类：
1 文章（子刊或者业内公认杂志），并且要有数量，主要看博士后期间的。第一作者文
章来说，一篇CNS比不过两篇子刊。三篇PNAS或者circulation 或者J Neuroscience都
比一篇CNS管用。 打酱油的文章最好也有几篇，看着比较collaborative。
2 基金，最好可以带走的那种。不能带走的基金也可以表明这个candidate还是写得了
东西拿得到钱的。
3 博士后老板知名或者有威望。
4 研究方向热门，或者使用的技术有特点。
5 Search committee对candidate有personal 印象，比如开会听过报告或poster，一起
吃过饭等。
这5个亮点，只要有一两个就可能进shortlist。进了shortlist就看SKype和onsite
interview的表现以及研究方向是不是和系里fit了。

我看这两天的shortlist应该差不多了,写信去问情况,结果没人回信了.是不是我已经不
在shortlist上,他们就不理了.
