Strager in the night. Finnaly the
other pairs joined winners on the dance floor, but without Michael and
Joanna who missed also the final
picture with all finalists and judges.
I guess they were very unhappy, ...............

"软绵绵线条没拉开" is the key! 如果我给你看我的rumba showdance， 你也会说同样的话, 说我"软绵绵的" :) (当然我现在跳不到的anastasia水平). 5. showdance from a latin couple, i called it 'the transformer' (yes, it is
what you think); they won the showdance category.
The couple turned out to be Ilya Ifraimov & Nadia Goulina. I cannot really
call these latin showdances (including yulia's matrix). Any dancers can do
these without prominent latin elements, right? But anyway, this one is very
cool, too.

It will be better if you can come to OSB this year. Mostlikely, most of them
will be in the final round and they will have a full music of showdance.
Judges will score the showdance as well as the other five dances. I mean 6
dances will be scored in the final round at OSB, which is different from
other comp. Usually top Latin dancers will be there, but top standard
dancers may not be there.

showdances, which make showdances what they are...i love that...
show dance and set a higher bar for the showcases. Themes like "Mask", "
Matrix" and "Pirates of the Carribeans" have combined Hollywood and
blackpool together. Their routines are different from the others. |

standard for a midwestern competition) plus showcase by world showdance
champions Maxim Kozhevnikov and Yulia Zagoryuchenko.

Just saw the re-run of AM smooth tonight, interesting thing is, most of them
in the showdance event looked really sloppy on TV, but when I was there 2
months ago I thought they all looked great
and in the pro/am persentation of smooth, the pro looked pretty awful, worse than his student partner |

lackluster. it would have been better if they just did one of their
competitive routines. i too suspect it has something to do with their busy
teaching schedule. it's a personal choice of them, i guess. makes big money,
not that there's anything wrong with it.
on a related note, i just caught up with the standard potion of osb and was
appalled by the awarding of showdance title to the rock routine. i'm all for
creativity |

-Havard did an awesome job for the prechamp/cham final and showdance evening
. the lights and candles made it feel like a real ball~ some harvard kids
really dressed up for the evening :) haha, unfortunatley later they got
stepped over during the social dance :)
-I was a bit disappointed by Peter and Christina's performance. basically
they said they just got some new choreogragh and kind of experimented on us.

About the dancer talking thing: They need that time to take a break and rest
-- after all, showdances are usually much longer than 1.5 minutes each,
right? and if it is a std couple, the guy has to talk through the time when
the lady is somewhere changing.
TBA partnership, I agree if both ppl are good then it could work well. But
it also depends on a lot of factors, especially in recently years the
syllabus events have been greatly flooded with people who are trying to |

he's creative, enthusiastic and passionate
IMHO, they're definitely not trendy, you could say they are a bit old
fashioned. but they did incorporate other elements in their dance.
for example, their showdance (a sequel of rumba and
argentine tango) in WSS 2001 is amazing.
example of using elements from other dances,
Michal and Joanna. their WSS 2004 rumba has lots of jazz and contemporory
Adrej and Katarina, their show dance rumba and paso are almost
completely contemporary.(:

On Max's side, IMHO, drama, creativity, showmanship, story telling
are his strength. I don't think their showdance routines match numbers
like Matrix, Pirates, the Beat. Nor does Beata's acting match Yulia's. |

." Dancesport, as a "sport" nowadays, requires more athleticism. Hanna's
athleticism, (power,) and leg strength are not in the same league as the
current (several) top female Latin dancers. Maybe spending time to do the
south american showdance with her husband made things worse. |
