发帖数: 28 | 2 情况是这样的，现在的2019今年4月底到期，老板经费run out了。这段时间一直在找博
后的职位。现在呢有两个最有可能去的地方，这两个地方都要求on site 做一个oral
presentation，就是show一下目前的工作。第一个地方机票已经订好，3月27号的，那
边是完全cover旅行的费用，这个老板也确实想让过在他的lab工作。可是思来想去，还
是觉得第二个老板更有前途，所以已经跟第二个老板谈好要去他那，他会安排在4月上
旬做个presentation，并且说这只是走个形式，基本上就算是定下来了。那么问题来了
，第一个地方还要不要去做这个presentation，又不打算去他那，这么去了我认为是浪
费他的钱，有些不道德，但心里还是想给自己这样的一个锻炼的机会，毕竟很少做这样
的presentation，可是完了人家若是愿意签合同，我却拒绝更加觉得对不起人家。
版里有经验的前辈们，恳请你们给小弟一个中肯的建议。去还是不去第一家做这个on-

shout out for this kind of thing, people should go to your site(s) out of
their will.
If after announcing your site/idea, you don't get a lot of interest, that
means it just doesn't work.
Try something else then. |

小公司，第一次on-site一整天见了7，8人，溜了一圈facilities，双方感觉都不错，但貌似overqualified，被逼问工资expectation，可能他们觉得要得过高，对方口头提到title也可以变, 因为是口头，所以不觉得那么serious。之后4，5人都回了我的Thank you notes，HR和招人部门的头说还有几个canidates，but keep me updated。两周多后今天又叫我去on-site， 说是见CEO(上次不在)和其他几个上次没见面的，不过只要0.5-1小时。哪位有经验的给指点一哈What is going on? 先谢！ |

以外的地方，relocation package很好。 做的
同方向的基本都在那。可是最近
由于family reason, 不适合relocate. 但是因为是大公司，
离家近的地方有两个site, 也有一两个发offer那个组的
人在近的site.
我现在可以提要求不用relocate而在这边
工作么？我的family reason 很有说服力，ld和
小孩都不愿意relocate,而且搬过去上学
麻烦，已经错过开学时间了。
诚恳请教，能试一下么？成功概率多大？大家

在等485，结果今天被USCIS 一个officer site visit，说了半天以为是说485的事，结
果说是H1b的。问了一堆问题，主要是干什么，学位是啥，工资到底多少，然后拍了张
办公室照片。让我回头发W2，ID，学位，paystub还有一个brief introduction of job
duty 给他们。
公立大学教职，没想到还会被USCIS visit。带她过来的校警给系里面秘书说是FBI的人
，搞得系里面以为我犯啥事了 |

title, job description, salary, work hours, 公司有多少人，申请过程中谁付的申请
费，统共十来分钟吧。最后还去我的办公室看了一下，给我的乱哄哄的办公室拍了张照
。她给我留了张
名片，上面印着“Administrative Site Visit and Verification Program" 和一个
800号
码。
以前没听说过这种事，所以到这里来问问，有人有过类似经历吗？ |

打算去 Fort Montgomery State Historic Site, 附近有山有水, elevation也不是很高
