concussion at least a couple of times. Remeber no matter how conservative
skiier one could be, there are always reckless skiiers/riders who may hit
you any time. |

发帖数: 4765 | 5 前天周六早上六点，从温哥华出发。一小时四十分钟后到达Blackcomb。
到Lifts八点多。EDGE卡只要刷一次就算进来了，而不像Snoqualmie，每次上都要
扫。后来知道为什么了——太多太多的Lifts了。
第一次上Solar Coaster，回头看，群山连绵，尽在脚下。我惊叹，真高啊。
为什么看不到山顶呢？
带我来的夫妇说，山顶在另一面,还要再做lift上去。
十五分钟的缆车坐下来，面对的立刻就是蓝道。
因为来得早，只有我们三个人。一路如猛虎下山，五分钟的路程下来，好生爽快。
这只是个预热。
然后换一个缆车。Excalibur Gondola。再下来，又是长长的蓝道。
雪道之长，从下缆车的地方，根本看不到base。与之相比，Snoqualmie根本就是玩
具。真不知道以前为什么要去那里。
接下来，左一个lift,又一个lift，由这对夫妇带着转，眼花缭乱，根本不记得缆
车的名字了。
差不多的时候，他们说这边马上人会多，我们去那边。
要经过一段绿道。对我来说，却还不如蓝道。这“绿道”是在悬崖边，只有不到十
米宽，让人窒息。每隔十几米，就有一个醒目的牌子，白底红字“ＣＬＯＳＥＤ”... 阅读全帖 |

的确很花体力。虽说 cross-country 的 ski 比较轻，但背上山还是很辛苦。有的人穿
着 ski boots 爬山，有的人则是把 ski boots 背背上，脚上穿普通的 hiking boots
，不管何者，他们穿的不是 snowshoe，爬山的时候很容易陷进雪里，一走好几英里，
很辛苦的！所以我一直很敬佩 backcountry skiier，体力要很好。
有几次在滑雪场的山上看到 ski patrol，他们都是志愿者，脚上套着 ski，背上背着
snowshoe，敬佩得一塌糊涂！ |

这周本来说是要去Millcreek的，结果老天作美，明晃晃的大太阳。老师决定去Dog
Lake. 因为这个loop途中有一段雪崩危险比较大的地段，只能天气好的时候走。
从MillD North东边的那片property上，Butler fork下，一共5mile出头，不到2000尺
的elevation gain.一路上碰到skiier无数。

旁边的ridge上还有更多的run.据说很多人是自己ski上去的,这么高的peak我夏天一天

滑雪这项运动涉及到的装备和logistics比较多，learning curve相对其他运动也比较陡
，所以新手不是那么容易上手。如果有经验的人能普及一些基本的知识会容易很多。
* 分类
从场地分，主要有三种:
In-bound (滑雪场)
Crosscountry (地势起伏不大的野外)
Backcountry (地势起伏较大的山)
从器械分，至少有以下几种：
Downhill ski
AT ski
Snowboard
Splitboard
Telemark ski
XC ski

from observing more advanced skiiers, it seems their skis are very parallel
when turning. They seem to just twist from side to side.
When I use the wedge, my turns are very big. If I allow the speed to pick up,
I have no way of stopping myself.
Do you guys think I should keep my skis closer together and parallel to make
tighter turns and stop more effectively? |

这次去heavenly决定上课学parallel turn.
从albertson买了一个lift + rental + lesson(lvl 1 or 2)的package
结果第二天上课的时候lvl 2 coach说他只教wedge turn和连接wedge turn,
把我交给了一个lvl 3 coach. heavenly 的课从lvl 3以上都是coach带学生进山，
具体教学内容要看学生的水平。 我运气不错， 有两个coach可是学生才3个
test drive两次之后， 看起来经验较丰富的那个coach带着我和另一个哥们
上lvl 5的课 (lvl 5 = skiiers start turns with a slight wedge, and finish skis
parallel)
课程一共2小时45分钟，coach带我们走了5个lift, 两绿三蓝， 因为是ski school, 到
哪个lift都不排队， 太爽了. coach讲了parallel turn的3个要领:

beginner level skills with very advanced techniques in your text book. The
two foot skiing in your text are adopted by "racers" to maintain speed and
balance carving in race courses. You are talking about 50-90miles/hr for
downhill skiiers. It takes very strong legs and years of practice, it is not

发帖数: 94654 | 18 1. 冲catwalk技术要过硬，就是近乎平地稍微有一点点坡度，一定
要能冲过去，否则有你痛苦的。上个雪季，我的这个技术非常不过关，在
snowbird就吃亏很多。现在觉得这个技术成熟多了，所以大多数catwalk
还能冲过去或者至少冲个80％。当然很多时候还是得下车推自行车。
如果这个技术不过关，对于boarder，可能很快就被人甩掉不等只能自己玩了。
2. 对于boarder，不到lift就别停。很多意外发生，一旦你停了，后果...
不堪设想。。。。。。 后果一：你停下来跟人说话，发现前边是个长长
的catwalk，你没初速度了，欲哭无泪。后果二，你停下来了，结果是厚厚的
powder于是你被淹了，欲哭无泪
3.买一件较好的滑雪衣。当然这个对众多poser们来说不是问题。对于我这种
小气鬼是问题。我带了去年打折抢到的goretex pro，压根不舍得穿的，
就带着以防万一的，结果，在vail被雪淹，我的那个滑雪服不是waterproof的
回家的时候里边都是湿的，难受四了。换了珍藏的硬壳，再没这个问题
总之，vail好多地方，都是skiier更享受，boarder。。。不是那么fr |

里体验一番。奈何离家30分钟，就有2个全美最好的滑雪场，alta和snowbird，吸引着
我们，所以来这里已经3年，居然一直未能成行。
Powder Mountain地处盐湖城北部的一个小城huntsville, 其实距离机场也就50几迈。
尽管也被skiing megazine评为#1 in value, #3 in snow quality, 但是不知什么原因
，却一直没有引起广大skiier/snowboarder的注意。基本上只有住在Ogden的当地人光
顾这里。
这次，受到qmc mm在ski板一文的刺激，我们终于下定决心驱车1个半小时(我知道，我
知道，我们是被宠坏的utah 孩子，：)，到Ogden canyon里的powder mountain去走一
遭。正也赶上天公作美，周四周五的大雪给powder mountain带来了将近30英寸的fresh
powder。
Powder mountain，顾名思义，以powder著称。3千亩lift served的terrain大部分 |

Notice that in a big part of the demo, Bode is doing double pole plant. That
may be a good drill for back-seat skiiers. Double pole plant will force the
hands to be in the correct positions so that the body faces the fall line.
It can also bring the weight forward, vs staying in the back seat.

和开车一样，你搞不清哪个是油门哪个是刹车就上马路开30MPH就是胆子大
你开了20年还只敢开40MPH就是胆子超小
一切都以控制范围内为基准
比如有的border刚开始就上了黑道了，因为border落叶飘是in control的，动作难看而
已，所以还不算啥
如果一个skiier基本要领不行就开始下陡坡危险就大多了
