Pandora一个月有好像48小时的限制，除非缴费。
slacker没有时间限制，不用缴费就偶尔听一下广告而已。而且slacker的声音比
pandora好的了。 slacker是128KBPS的mp3， 而pandora偶觉得可能是64或者96kbps的
mp3.
最后，sony 机子本身带的是slacker，偶也就没想着换了。

看了看他们招的人，publication比我强太多，虽然比我早出道5，6年. 好的teaching
school也很看中research的，虽然他们的research要求一点也不高.
其实我觉得我纯属咎由自取，这两年彻底变成了slacker，underachiever.上网，灌水
，到处旅游. 我从来没喜欢过做research, 做事总是拖踏，有兴趣的research topic，
一开始有点兴奋，一遇到点挫折就不想做下去了，都不知道得罪了多少coauthor, 一读
literature就想睡觉. 我phd的老板，太nice，两片烂文章就让我毕业了，从来也不
push.
我一直很自欺欺人的告诉自己，一定要做自己enjoy的事， 其余的神马都是浮云. 我爸
爸去年夏天突然去世，一个同事得了cancer，另一个同事的太太元旦那天去世, 我更给
自己找了很多借口.
虽然teaching一直是系里最高的，但是那种厌倦的情绪终于在这学期冒出来了。我开始

来转去就那么几个老家伙，抬头不见低头见，得罪他们有百害而无一利，特别是你老板
都还没定，说不定将来就是其中的某个
tail between legs啊，建议就是虚心的去问问，显示你的确care这个quals，
然后下次考试后再学一学就是 ---- 其实quals就是走走形式，系里的借口淘汰掉一些
他们不喜欢的人或者是slacker，我见过两次quals都没过的，他们也的确不是读phd的
料，我认识挺多人都是第一次没怎么当回事儿考一下，然后第二次就过（前提是要努力
准备准备）
另外你在换位思考一下，作为系里，如果你是committee的一员，你们也不喜欢每次quals都所有人通过，所以会选一些新面孔、不熟的、人缘一般的、考得一般、非committee里面有影响力成员的学生之类的人fail一下 |
