Yes, there is a left hand version. The racket hand is sleeveless to avoid
obstructing movement, while the non-racket hand can be used to wipe sweat :-)
The new design of Yonex shirts has been worn by LCW et al as well. I'll
leave it to fashionistas to comment on whether the asymmetric shirt is a
fashion hit or disaster. It has caused some discussion on BadmintonCentral.
Japanese WD finalist on #20 is less controversial as fashion goes. |

swimming split 1.2 miles/33:42, surprisingly fast, actually, much faster
than I have ever swum in a pool! biking split 56 miles/2:48:18, excellent by
my standard for a rolling hill course. Running, half marathon/1:47:50,
awful awful run, bonked from mile 2. Transition was excellent, wasted no
time. On the overall, it was a more than satisfying performance.

long run. I got the same problem when running my first 1/2 marathon. I
realized I should have used band-aids or use cream to protect. Another thing
to consider is to wear singlet (sleeveless shirt). That will reduce the
chance of chafing. |

要想一个吸引眼球的题目多么的困难，今天后半程的时候就想用不是盗用鳌拜的
独腿战斗，想想还是太WS了。那就用这个吧，一改我那臭名昭著的土(吐)。副标
题就用：细节决定成败。
先报个成绩： 3:43:03 Overall 44/157; Age 8/25, 个人PR(汗……)。离版上平
均水平还差点点。
训练篇
九月开始这痛那痛的就在跑版唧唧歪歪了半天，感谢大家的批评，我又重新跑起
来。从中旬开始慢慢恢复，正式的训练算是9月26号的MAF开始。每周MPW维持在4
0，尽量一个Tempo+一个Longrun，speedwork被我完全抛弃了。到11月6号，一共
跑了三个18+（只有一个18是在路上，其他两个在GYM里）。然后就开始tapering
了。总的来说，这样的训练只能是一个酱油比赛，同时鉴于我强大的全马成绩，
这次应该能稳妥PR一次。
纠结篇
开始tapering以后，反而心里不是很淡定。每天都在对照各种pace算法，vdot，

作为Trail的新丁，就说说我的这次比赛的流水账。
4月1号跑完ultra以后就自然地进入recovery，开始0MPW。鳌拜就忽悠我和他去跑KU附
近的这个40mile trail。终于赶在12号涨价前，围观团变成了参赛团。抱着打酱油的心
态，中间二十天仅仅跑了10mile左右，最多的一天跑了5mile，还是分两次完成的。
Course是一个20mile多一点的loop，100K的跑三圈，40M的跑两圈。路面是树根和碎石
为主的single-track，只有0.4mile是在公路上（还是一个大坡）。补给站在起点 (
drop bag)、8mile、12mile (drop bag)、17mile。中间还有四个无人的水站，提供纯
水。GPS的数据输入跑个头以后，显示单圈的海拔+3400 ft/-3400 ft
早上六点赶到起点拿号码，准备七点出发。室外温度为38F，冻的直打哆嗦。犹豫再三
还是穿短裤、戴上帽子和arm warmer，考虑到比赛主要在树林里面，就没有擦防晒霜。
7点，喇叭一响，鳌拜就像兔子一样窜出去了，再次见到就是近九个小时以后。40M和

the Christmas season when it was very cold a while ago. It feels very cold
at the very beginning of running, but after several miles, I start to sweat.
I have compression base layers used when I was living in the mid-west. But

wait to try it out. Went to the beach today with my wife and daughter, and
took a swim while they played in the sand. The water temperature was
probably in the low 70s, pretty cold by the normal standard, but it was
PERFECT with the wetsuit! I was also surprised by the buoyancy the wetsuit
provided me. It makes free style swimming so much easier. I had always
worried about drinking sea water, but once I was mentally prep |

around 7:20am. It’s my first open water with a wet suite. I tried it last
night at home and it’s quite an effort to put it on and take off. This
morning I applied some Vaseline around ankle and calf area. It was much
easier to put on the suite with the help of lubricant. Also make sure you
get to use the bathroom before you put on the wet suite. Otherwise you would
redo 75% of the work.

游泳池了。
这个开水特训是我的两个Master Swimming的教练搞的。 两人都是高手，原来都是大学
校队的，现在一位46一位51。 都还在每周坚持游泳训练，主要是参加Master的比赛和
开水比赛， 51岁的这位保持着很多项州年龄组记录。几年前是45岁组女子蝶泳的
Master全国记录保持者。她们还参加三项的比赛，但都是为了游开水而已。
今天一上课，大家先做了一下自我介绍。 水平参差不齐。有的参加过很多比赛，有的
像我一样从来没有。 不过除了我大家好像都有童子功。
教练先给大家在陆上讲解了一些一般游开水的注意事项，还介绍了一下附近的每个三项
和开水比赛的特殊注意事项。说我家附近大湖里新增10Mile开水比赛，说如果有兴趣可
以参加。 提到湿衣，发现就我一个人带了。教练说穿上试一试吧。
泳池事先已经安排好了，所有的Lane Line都拉到池边， 水里放了三个很大的橘红色浮
子。
下水了，教练先让大家在水里热身5分钟。发现湿衣是神器，不用怎么踩水就浮起来了
