我回答一下。我还是未定派,偏 Trump, 但支持 Hillary 可能性不是 0%
我有个朋友在微信里说了长长的理由,就是要投希拉里。
中国人支持希拉里的原因主要有:
(1)民主党铁票,要福利,认为民主党优待新移民;
(2)对当前经济基本面判断乐观,认为希拉里可以继续这种乐观;
(3)对 Trump 不放心,怕他上台美国经济,国际关系有风险。希拉里上台再坏也就顶
多维持现状四年。
我说句在本版政治不正确的话,你可以纠缠指责希拉里的电邮是个大错误,甚至要军法
从事,这种人怎么有资格竞选总统,等等,而许多老百姓则倾向于可以原谅这种
sloppy 的保密态度,认为不是什么大事。
那么希拉里的另外最大问题,就是她狡猾,不诚实,作为一个自私的政客,在基金会,
华尔街方面为自己疯狂揽财。这些都是可以骂的,尤其桑德斯的支持者有理由痛骂,因
为老头确实清贫。但是在和 Trump 或者某些共和党政客竞争的时候,这就不算什么大
问题了,利用法律漏洞赚钱,是 Trump 自己都多次承认了的,他认为自己因此才是有
能耐,怪法律,不怪自己,自己能利用法律捞钱是因为自己聪明。

只能在选前 搞了这么一个,信虽然大意是 re-open,但内容上还不很确切。
Come在办 H 这个案子时,非常sloppy
1,没有 call grant jury,他要是这样做,其实可以把自己摘出去。最后,有grant
jury 定是不是 去 起诉。
2,在 interview H 时,H 说因为以前的 脑震荡,好多东西都记不清楚了;询问的人
没办法,只好跟Comey 说,应该调出 H 医疗记录 查看,被 Comey 当场 否认。
3,Comey 居然没有 查看 H 最贴身助手的 laptop,Huma 有段时间 和 Weiner 公用一
个 laptop。
然后,Comey 开了哪个新闻发布会,列了一大堆证据,都是这些人 努力工作 获得的,
但是,结论一个 180度 转,决定不起诉,理由很 荒谬。

lower ball joints 坏了做alignment是白做,因为车的悬挂是松的。
我买了10-年以上的旧车回来都会想法自己把lower ball joint以及其他悬挂检查以及
换了,这样不

9留给美国肌肉车了,回头慢慢补齐。
对大多数国人来说,Subaru意味着Forester和Outback,其实WRX和STi才是他家的精华
所在。90年代,麦克雷和富士车队的蓝色STi成就了WRC的一代经典。WRX 和WRX STi是
Subaru入门车款Impreza的运动型号,特点在于四驱系统和水平对置涡轮引擎。
第一代(1991-2000)和第二代的Impreza(2001-2007)的开发模式和许多经济型车是

唉,写作这个东西是功夫活,只能多练了。平时没有时间看闲书的话,至少得翻翻杂志
,看看英语新闻,坚持一段时间总归会有进步的。
我这ap当了几年了还是觉得自己写作太烂,有一次还被审稿人批评说太sloppy;发表的
文章仔细看看还是有一些语法错误,真是狂汗。
写学术文章有点像八股文,用的语言简单枯燥点,总能把意思说清楚。但是如果要想做
到行文流畅,语言(略微)生动一点,还是有难度的。
还有一些基本的规范也是要注意的,记得Donald Knuth好像有本关于数学写作规范的书
,你可以去参考看看。

这不算什么坏话。你的交流能力面试都看见了。推荐信最主要的是,你发表的工作是不
是你的贡献,你的工作有没有影响。在这些问题上,要是导师说了好话,就够了。
我也不认为把推荐信给你看是暗示什么。要是他真的觉得写得不好,为此你可能会拿不
工作,你就可能会去告你的导师,反而把他们拖下水。他们犯不上为了你惹麻烦。就是
sloppy了,小地方不会做事。包括先发邀请后要推荐信。他们觉得推荐信都写得很好,
看不出所以然,干脆就省事了。

I'm not a faculty, but as a researcher I prefer the latter. Put your feet in
the reviewer's shoes, what kind of manuscripts you want to review? I bet
the answer would be the latter. No one wants to waste his/her time on a
sloppy manuscript; that's not enjoyable. Just a personal opinion, though.

工作几年后回到学校读管理学方向的研究生,跟的一个华人女教授,比较牛(当然学校
一般不是大牛),40岁出头就正教授了,下面带4个GRAD STUDENTS,都是华人,个人名
声在学校里一般(大概中下,如果不是下的话)。现在感觉有以下几方面出了问题,以
至于我觉得和导师相处出了问题。导师那边我也不知道她怎么想,但是行为表现上让我
感觉不舒服。
1. 导师经常在TEAM MEETING的时候说如果不喜欢就换导师,相当一部分情况下是针对
我说的,这让我觉得也比较郁闷。后来了解情况导师原来带过一个本地白人学生,和她
不合所以换了导师,这个事情对她打击蛮大的。她经常这样说之后我也很无语,本来不
想换导师的到现在有些想换导师了。但是胆子太小不敢换,哈哈。只能上论坛来求助。
2.导师控制欲很强,我的THESIS必须用她的TOPIC。这点我和她交流过,得到的答案是
她在业内时间长,把握准所以我的想法是NAIVE的,应该用她的。一开始做我也比较抵
触,后来慢慢接受了也就用心做了。可是导师还是一直觉得我没有100%用心。
3.导师阶级意识和权力意识很强。导师很少和我直接对话或者ONE ON ONE MEET... 阅读全帖

我觉得是个slight mismatch to begin with。对方想招刚出道的,希望面试人讲技术
细节来证明自己做的是solid work,而且最好技术上是最前沿。lz资历深一些,不是对
方脑子里默认的类型,job talk最好有足够的技术细节来establish credibility,在
此基础上再展示vision、agenda、big picture。重点放在后者,听众里junior
faculty未必欣赏得了,senior faculty见多识广,很难被impress。
学术圈找工作,小年轻的格局小点儿没啥,大牛老油条细节上sloppy一些也没啥。mid-
career最难,哪一环都不能放松。

记得我以前说自己儿子把个骂他种族歧视的白人孩子在餐厅里狠打一顿, 大家都骂我..

1: 儿子成绩在全年级最好,
2:儿子在同学看来最凶-- 男学生都怕他
3: 好几个白MM 追他-- 可他说她们"SLOPPY"
4: 他说只喜欢亚洲MM--特别是日本MM..
5: 儿子现在的"成绩" 是靠打出来的---有次追到那孩子家里去了---------当然是我告
诉儿子的: 只要别人嘲笑, 或骂你是因为你是中国人-你就打!!
6: 他帮3个中国孩子打过架, 都是你们这些新来的人的孩子:2个教授的儿子-一个餐馆
的儿子.
建议: 大家别太忍了:特别是教育下一代!!

我倒是觉得你说的太过分了。求人帮忙固然是当然不能要求事事都和心意,但楼主的姐
夫的帮忙好像是一事都没合他心意吧,离你说的事事和意差十万八千里啊。这忙帮的也

偶的理解是B stock就是生产厂家忽悠出来的名词,对要discoutinued的产品加上这个b
stock,然后dump给小dealer们,大幅减价出售,这样不至于影响正常产品A stock的
价位。对偶来说,B stock就是新的,warrenty也和新的一样,有时候就是包装盒子不
是完美的而已。记得版上有人买过580还是600的B stock的,很好很合算,音质一样。

CARY is pretty good... but at this price point, i think a good used solid
state intgerated amp might be better than a used tube amp, considering price/performance... especially when you need musical details. Cheaper tubes tends to be slow and muddy, in a pretty bad way.

price/performance... especially when you need musical details. Cheaper
tubes tends to be slow and muddy, in a pretty bad way.
a top choice.. it is about $2K when buying used. But it is a substantial
machine for a serious hi-fi system. With this integrated amp, you can start
expereincing real hi-end. The machine is made in USA and the craftmanship is
immensely impressive.
. it is too warm (not in a goos way) and too sloppy, missing a lot of
details and musicality.

两周前fail掉某公司性格测试 上来问问大家有没有类似经历的。 其实也不完全fail,
做完第二天 收到HR congratulations邮件,说我通过了让我做下一个测试;下午又变卦
了 说性格测试分数没有高到做第二部分测试。
这个测试大概100多道题3个section 大概50分钟左右 对于每个statement有strongly
disagree, somewhat disagree, disagree, neutral,etc.7个程度选项。考察的内容主
要集中在
1.对工作的态度
2.同事关系
3.leadership怎么样
题目声明1.不计时间;2.无所谓politically/socially correct;3不要选过多的
neutral
对工作的态度 本人观点很鲜明 没有什么neutral, 选了很多strongly agree/disagree

破财消灾。。。我也经常做。。。现在碰到这个灾,虽然人穷,也无所谓颇多少财了,
能消灾就好~~~
哎,5,6,7几个月我的狗血事情忒多了,当然和opt bounce check比是毛毛雨~~~
毕业后老板在mailing list上发祝贺,我当时还兴高采烈回复说我的phd好像乘过山车
,在学校里有老板bail out,但是太特么吓人了,我要改过自新,毕业后不要这么不靠
谱了。。。没想到大boss是opt啊 @.@~~~
而且我无法吸取教训,too careless,super sloppy,,,一直在一类小事上悲剧,继
续反省中```
哎,就是想祝贺毕业,还把爸妈都弄到身边,为了让他们舒服点,又换房子,囧。。。
现在真是后悔了,自不量力悲剧了。。。幸亏他们身体还好,这一趟来玩被我折腾的要命
