朋友家住在北加fremont，Ardenwood那块，single family house。昨天去他们家玩，车就
停在他们家house前的street上。
结果晚上吃完饭出来发现车竟然被拖走了。原来他们这条街门前是不让street parking
的，朋友们和我们好久没见面，一见面大家都很兴奋，他们忘了告诉我们，我们呢，也
忘了问他们了。
问题是他们house前的那条街上只有一个no stopping anytime的标记，没有no
parking，没有关于tow away的任何标记，跟别提去哪里找拖车公司的电话了。后来网
上查了一下，说要打电话给警察局，警察局会告诉你拖车公司的地址电话啥的。结果呢

PMU倒是不错，在工业界有了些应用，大家开始觉得这个好，往research里投钱了。PMU
真心有用啊，而且硬件正在跟上去。smartgrid嘛....估计5年之内我不会有能双向通信
的微波炉.... |

老大今年上K，老二明年上K。
如果今年 年底搬过去，老大肯定是在waiting list上，那如果给overflow到附近的小
学，老二明年还需要抽签吗？还是老二明年就可以直接上ardenwood小学了？

人所在公司也投了些钱准备去漟这趟浑水. 可是觉得公司这帮人实在是扶不起的阿斗,
打算自己给自己找些事做做. 无论是做SIMULATION, 出些PAPER; 还是开发出产品可以
做STARTUP.只是本人是弱电出身的PHD,强电不在行, 所以一直没有找着方向.有没有正

Still don't know if it was good to show diversity on the resume, they ask a
lot of points, from inheritance to network protocols to electricity
transmission to brain teaser.
I failed on some of the coding questions and some power system related
questions( I study power in my bachelor).
After that they asked me brain teaser (which I think I did good because I
saw it before) and behavior question, like team work, solo work, how you
handle if got |

• Demand Response and Consumer Energy Efficiency
DR 现在都是Control Room 的 Operator 打电话去Shed Load. 现在各个ISO 都在
implement DR.其实没什么特别好的办法. 有了AMI和Smart Appliance 以后可能会智能
些.
• Wide-Area Situational Awareness
会大量用到一种叫Synchronized Phasor的东东. 用GPS做时钟同步. 搞硬件的同学可
以看看有没有机会. 数据处理和显示也是个方向.
• Energy Storage
电池, Fuelcell, 之类的东东.搞材料的和化学的要好好动动脑筋.
• Electric Transportation
电动汽车 (PEV)
• Advanced Metering Infrastructure
已经有了标准了, 就看谁先占有市场了.
