突然想写点儿关于棒球的东东。。。起因有二，一是前几天阿童木夺冠的时候，看
到Verlander,Beltran,McCann这些名字感觉是那么的熟悉而又陌生，恍惚间有种
沧海桑田前世今生的深深感慨。。。和好几个曾经一起看过棒球的朋友聊起，都感
觉生娃带娃似乎像一道分水岭，把我们心中属于那个时代的记忆几乎完全给隔断
了，以至于平时已经再也想不起来。。。当时我就产生了想写点儿什么以把那一段
的记忆重新给唤醒的冲动，但因为很忙并且一直也没有找到一个很好的切入点来开
篇，就一直迷迷糊糊地那么拖着，直到suddenly发生了Halladay的tragic
accident。。。it really hit me hard，我自己都不知道是为什么，我并不曾
是他或者是蓝鸟/菲力的粉丝，按理说我不应该感到非常的难过，但事实就是我足足

Schilling和Smoltz其实都是borderline HOF。Smoltz占了3 Aces的便宜。就连Glavine
我觉得都是borderline。300W很值钱，但是没first ballot HOF这么值钱。Smoltz, no
way first ballot. Not in my book.
Schilling发发牢骚很正常。但是扯上Smoltz就不够意思了。 |

everyone else. The same thing can be said about Roger Clemens but his
candidacy is tainted by PED.
Now, it comes to this quesiton, 3 other pitchers, Smoltz, Mussina, Schilling

大家除了开始时draft closer外，也可以在球队中保持几个认为是
potential closer的球员。
比如如果我有John Smoltz，我也许会再draft一个Roberto Hernandez保险，
万一Smoltz伤了，我不会一下子就没人close了。
另外big roster room也可以鼓励大家做长线。一时slump的球员可以暂时
放在板凳上观察而不必急着脱手。
棒球赛季非常的长，许多球员都有时hot，有时cold。有足够的roster spot
对于耐心的manager来说，是一种奖赏。 |

位置了，
即使penny被trade，smoltz有可能顶上来，不过球探观察smoltz AAA的表现后得出结论
shoulder

yuki最近有点slump。俺觉得sox应该尽快解决SS的问题，当然pitching也有问题，俺赛

分享这个履历的仅有一人，Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley (1978,20;1992,51)
Eckersley做先发12年，没有Smoltz牛但也积累了近140多胜；到A‘s转为中继、closer
又坚持了13年，390 save史上第二，1992年cy young+MVP大约是史上惟一中继投手达成
此成就
首投名人堂。
Closer的位置越来越专门化，而最伟大closer Mo做先发的经历并不耀眼，不过标准放
低一点（比如生涯50+save且拿过单季10+胜）还是能找到通吃两面的行家：
最近的冠军队伍里有过starter-closer双重经历的有2008年Phillies的Brett Myers，
07年有21 save，08年转做先发10胜，WS输掉一场。后来在Houston大星星做过两年Ace
和半年Closer
Derek Lowe比较有名，2000（42 save）、2001两年是closer；2004年拿到三个系列赛
clincher的胜投

在特
定的一年get it done。
即使后来进了名人堂的，也可能一球断送本队（1988WS Dennis Eckersley在GM1放给
Gibson一个再见HR，几十年过去大家都说整个系列赛的走势都由那个球定了）
90年代的Braves已经两个首投名人堂，Smoltz未来也应该进，但他们仨只赢过一届WS。
而很重要的原因恰恰是被BBWAA投票抛弃了的Jack Morris在1991年投的更好（第七场
Smoltz坚持八局不丢分，最后还是0:1输给了十局不丢分的Morris）
在成名的Ace身上投大钱是风险很大的：扬基的CC至少还拿了一冠，Phillies赢了WS之
后几年内拉来Pedro、Lee、Doc、Oswalt结果季后赛一年退一步还把农场搞坏了。
虽如此，还是有很多队采取这个策略，因为这种人闪光个一次季后赛就可能拿下，如
Lackey。
