Earlier police in Barcelona said they had shot dead a man in a car which
failed to stop at a police check and struck a police officer.
The police check was on the Diagonal avenue in Barcelona. The car was later
found in Sant Just Desvern on the outskirts of the city.
Police said there was no indication the incident was connected to the Las
