itemized deduction要比你standarized deduction多，才可以报。如果你没有
mortgage,一般itemized都不比standarized的多。如果你用TurboTax，你就可以比较比

１。吊念多下。我也有二个elementary 小孩，也住在这种standarize test state
number 1 的小区，作为一个父亲我不希望看到这种事情发生。
２。说枪手是精神病by common sense是说不过去的.abc nightlight你们看不？上面
fbi consultants当天晚上就分析了：要穿上vest,准备armor/amunition, 看clock
plot进攻计划，这些都需要清晰的头脑。
３。高危人群的确是出身教好的小白／韩国人，１８－２２岁之间。突然snap的可能性
很大。这次人的枪不是他自己的，是他母亲的。所以提高购枪年龄限制并不能起到防止
这类事件发生。其实大部分拥枪的人都知道：屋里的枪很可能不能保护自己，反而会成
为偷窃的目标。
４。美国现在需要改革的是每个学校都驻守school safety specialist,每天规定１－
２名学生父亲请受法律保护的公假轮流在学校值勤。这样不能阻止小规模时间发生，但
massecre应该是能制止的。

nurse说，医生做的那些，都是常规的routine，没什么技术含量。我们护士都能干
患者与其让医生干，还不如让我们干呢
想想也是这个道理。西医，尤其是美国的医疗，讲standarization，只要熟知条例
基本上熟练的人都能干。不需要MD那么苦逼地啃书本 |

trains in china are great - you should try fast train at least once. if you
have tie for one day trip you can use fast train to ho to Suzhou or Hangzhou
, if not just take maglev from airport. Check on the website as in some
hours it goes faster! standar speed is 300km/h.

deduction的影响。你静下心来好好算算。
旧的item deduction ＝ 16200 + state tax + property tax + interest
新的standar deduction = 24000 + interest。
新旧tax rate差别太大了。旧税率1万8以上就是15%了，7万5以上是25%，15万以上是28
%。
即便你的税增加了，但你代表不了中产阶级，就像生10个孩子的中产也不代表中产阶级。
新的税收政策打击的就是多子女家庭，高州税地税家庭。一般华人不会是多子女家庭，
高州税高地税的家庭很多都hit AMT了，本来也没有州税地税的减免。 |

得这些东西在功能上互有偏重，也有重合，不知道怎么取舍好，所以请有经验的同学推
荐下怎样买比较经济实惠。。俺是穷人。。不想搞一堆大型器具在家里堆着结果又不怎
么用。。。
俺想要的功能有：
和面（这个好像面包机就能搞定，但是量比较小？我做菜喜欢一做就做一堆。。。）
绞肉糜（用food processor和standar mixer来绞的话，分别需要预先把肉切成多大块
的啊？有可以直接扔整坨肉进去的么？）
切片切丝切块（主要用于平时炒菜炖肉啥的，俺实在比较讨厌平时做菜的准备过程。同
上问，扔进去的东西用food processor， slicer 或者 standard mixer分别需要预处
理到啥程度啊？）
磨干粉（比如花椒面之类的）
如果想要能切动骨头的是不是就得买肉店里那种大型切割机了啊？有300$左右或以内的
slicer能搞定骨头的么？（能把鸡骨头鸭骨头切切碎的就行，就是把整鸡鸭啥的切成好
看点的小块。。能切动排骨猪蹄之类的更好。。不过不强求。。）

上周3一个recruiter打电话联系我，说有个职位，问我感兴趣否。我说有兴趣，当场就
确定了电面时间。
这礼拜一，L公司的部门director打电话面了，立马要我这周四（也就是昨天）onsite
。让我自己订机票，给recruiter联系reimbursement。
然后就是昨天跑去onsite，见了director，VP和group leader。感觉一切都挺好，公司
也还不错。到了机场的时候听到recruiter的留言，打过去说那家公司决定“put you
on board”。然后说有些offer细节要跟我讲讲, 问我要多少钱。我就根据你的经验，
这个职位standar的工资是多少，他就说半年前他们hire了个phD，是36刀/hour，所以
director说最多就这么多。没有benifit，relocate包张机票和一周的旅馆。
回到家看信箱，收到recruiter发的信，title是offer letter。信的内容大致是这样的
，注意，信里提到的Allied sensor，LLC并不是我面试的L公司！！！

但是加州standar RPA的合同上写了，remove contingency，我问现在还没有签字，但

你享受的不光是麦当劳,你可以claim tax treaty 5000,然后R才能享受的standard ded
uction,然后是所有人都享受的personal exemption 3650.
如果有家属,更好,上面这两个都还可以加,当然如果你的itemized deductoin比standar
d deduction更多的话就不用standard deduction,比如在还房贷.
然后自己掏腰包交的学杂费有部分可以拿来免税,
然后是work pay credit,只有R能拿,
如果有孩子,还有child tax credit,可能有additional child tax credit和EIC.
总之,对中国F1留学生来说,nr变成r很划算,不光treaty exempt还在,还能拿R的各种免税
和credit,而且没海外收入避免了变成R带来的不利. |

在一行里，也好理解，因为1040表里选了standard就不能选itemize，反过来也是。不
过1116表还有一行是other deduction,说明除了对应1040表deduction之外，你有别的
明目的减免也可以填。
但是填了真不划算。 |

big mortgage interest expense, standarized deduction is usually higher than
itemized deduction, then donation doesn't count. We've discussed this in
the past.
Yet, reuse (i.e. donation), reduce, recycle are always good practice. :) |
