Faced with the bruising headwinds of high unemployment, weak manufacturing
and an otherwise listless economy, Goldman Sachs has slashed its forecast
for gross domestic product.
The firm cut its second-quarter GDP outlook to 2 percent from 3 percent, a
stunning blow for an economy expected to be well on the path to recovery
following the financial crisis of 2008 and 2009.

Stocks in Asia were mixed Thursday as markets appear to be treading water
ahead of today's ECB meeting statement and tomorrow's US March Payrolls
report - two important events for gauging the trajectory of growth and
policy in the developed world. Stocks in Japan continue to enjoy a modest

响经济发展。不少经济学家和分析员在原油价格上涨会不会影响今年美国和世界的经济
增长这个问题上分歧很大。
有人说目前的油价上升不过是一点小障碍而已，有的则说一场巨大的灾难正在来临。
到目前为止，原油价格上涨的程度还不足以影响世界经济复苏。但是中东的觉醒还处于
刚刚开始的阶段，此时下结论还显得太早。
现在美国的汽油价格是每加仑$3.25，这是消费者不愿意见到的，但是目前这个价位还
没有导致美国人减少在其他方面的消费，一旦减少的话对经济会造成巨大伤害。
在2005年美国的汽油价格也曾经达到每加仑3美元的价位，这次再看到这个价格人们已
经不象第一次那么痛苦了。如果汽油价格不久之后升到每加仑4美元的话，目前的$3.25
就不算什么。
