发帖数: 1201 | 1 之前申请的时候学校有两个tenure track positions,一模一样的要求，我就提交了其
中一个。本来是上周电面的，结果系主任临时有事，拖到了这周二。电面之前告诉我说
，他们会从申请人中选出两个人去on-site。
电面是和整个faculty searching commmittee面试的，一共有六七个人的样子，每个人
问了两个问题左右。
面试完我礼貌性地写了个thanks letter。然后第二天就受到回信，说邀请我下个月去
on-site。
想问问这里的各位：on-site一般主要的流程是怎么样的，大概会问什么问题？还有就
是对方要我做一个教课的presentation，要我带着sample syllabus，这个教课表现的
好坏，是不是决定面试结果的关键？
希望各位前辈不吝赐教，小弟感激不尽。 |

发帖数: 309 | 4 你可以问，让你讲什么topic，一般他们可能会说由你选内容，或者那个班的学生正好
学到哪个内容。到时候就和你平时教课一样，讲一堂课。
让讲课的学校比较少，一般是做research seminar，讲自己论文有关的东西。
research seminar和teaching（如果要求的话）很重要。
一般还有search committee对你interview，这个也重要。
其它单个的meeting，相对轻松些，可能会聊的比较杂。如果有安排和HR之类的meet,他
们会介绍学校，可以当休息时间。
据说吃饭也要注意自己的表现，他们主要通过这些观察你的personality。不要点面条
或者要啃的东西，吃起来动作可能不优雅。
一定要走之前拿到itinerary，查好每个要meet的人的信息，还可以准备下，如果单独
meet的时候可以交谈些什么内容。 |

讲research其实更好，自己熟啊。讲课的话，每个人都熟。

还见过1个月后给的，不过这个属于少数，一般是别人退掉或者内部有人去度假减慢了
招聘的进程。

是交代如果给我OFFER的话，我进入公司后的主要职责是什么。
其实我已经被这家公司弄到没了脾气了，前后已经历时好几个月了。我本来想着如果希
望不大，就下周搬家的。已经联系好新的住处了，今天下午去签约。现在看到HM这信，
又难免胡思乱想的。
想着如果他要据我的话，应该没有必要再写这信吧？可是如果要我的话，却又一点都不

找Job第一重要的是要做record keeping. 你看到什么job post,投了什么job,给对方提
供了什么材料，给某人说了什么话，怎么on-site,on-stie时见了什么人，这些都要做
记录。尤其是当天干完一件事，比如跟recruiter讨论完后应该马上记录，这时候你的
思路最清晰，记忆也最完整。这样的记录最有效。
找Job第二重要的事是每天对你所做记录做分析，分析你的行为学上的pattern,分析对
方问了你些什么，分析你还有什么地方需要改进，这种分析，一个两个case没多大意义
，但像牛肉这种面了几十个的，统计效应就很明显了 ，你很容易从统计分析中发现你
自身的问题。
找Job最重要的是对你的failure做分析，你忙了几星期，最后屁也没拿到，为什么会这
