Rockets center Yao Ming’s comeback suffered another devastating setback
with a stress fracture found Thursday morning in his left ankle.
The injury is not in the same area as the previous stress fracture, but
it is a major setback.
Tests taken after his Nov. 10 sprained ankle and subsequently did not
show the injury.
Yao had said in the offseason that he would consider retirement if he
had been unable to stay healthy.

马拉松比赛前本地running club组织的 long run，他去了，跑完回来还特高兴地跟我

我当时也挺高兴的，这下比赛有伴了。说好了一起翘班去EXPO，今天看到他走路有些不
对劲，居然是stress fracture，我估计是平时跑跑步机太多了，其实肌肉和骨头都还
不能适应长时间跑路面的冲击。跑长了就出问题了。
提醒一下，想比赛的不能只练跑步机

a stress fracture -- there is no obvious discomfort during the run.
Nevertheless I'm taking precautionary measures: icing after the run, taking
double of my regular dose of calcium supplements, and drinking lactose free
calcium enriched milk.

as unstressed. I am wonder why lism is stressed secondarily, but list not.
because I hear they are the same pitch, the same volumn, and the same
spectrum.
I used frenquency analysis soft to analyze them and found no difference
between them.

This is like we have got music composition.
But the question is how to sound the music compositon correctly.
We know how to sing do, ri, mi, fa, so ,la and ci. So we can
sound any music with music composition.
But how to pronounce [,inter'nation,lism] and [,inter'nationlist]
so that we can know the difference between lism with secondary stress
and list with unstress?

连续好几个晚上都被它做噩梦的嗯嗯呀呀声吵醒

stress跟其他的一些现象总是相关的，所以要孤立地分析不太容易
对于lexical level，或者如你所说的phonemic level，普通话的stress总是伴随着明显
的pitch(F0)变化和元音的变化，我个人觉得pitch的变化甚至可能是主导的。
而在四川话里，pitch的变化不那么重要，duration的差异变得很重要，元音的变化也不
太重要。（个人观点）

Oxidative stress 是 Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) 对细胞、机体造成的 stress
（H2O2 只是 ROS 的一种）。这个用词好像常用来特指生物系统在处理 ROS 的时候出
现问题的状况（平衡失调了），起因可以是 ROS 太多了（外源或者內源），或者机体
、细胞什么地方、pathways出问题了而不能处理“生理”范围内的 ROS。

it in Sih's book.
there are tons of papers in 80s discussing T-stress effect, suggest you
grab one and read.
as for textbooks, even anderson's doesn't have, there must be other books
that have such content.
