那还是在1889的时候, 他老人家想要培养一种既能牧羊,又能防卫,各种性能比较全面的工作犬,于是四处去看狗展。 终于, 在Karlsruhe的一个狗展中,一条中等大小,黄灰色的狼狗让他眼睛一亮。 这只狼狗非常聪明,牧羊的本领那是没话说。 Stephanitz把他买下,改名叫Horand von Grafrath。
