一般的discipline似乎都不管用了。
昨天逛borders，无意中发现两本不错的书，尤其适合大一点的小孩：感兴趣的可以找
来看看。

(这书我刚在borders网上查书名的时候看到有两个版本，一个是最新的2010版的，是修
正过的，可能更好点。是橘红色封面)

Establishing Clear, Firm, and Respectful Boundaries
这两本书我在书店的只是粗略的从头到尾翻了一下，没有读的很仔细。感觉是比较适用于大点的小孩了（2岁以上）。

我不知道你家弟弟的情况，我从我老大的经历来看，貌似strong-willed的孩子还分两
种，一种是真正主意大不肯听话的，这样的类型属于理智型，可以用教科书的办法，比
如natural consequence。还有一种就行情绪化的，情绪上来了明知要被打却失去了理
性思考能力，左脑短路。事情过后道理都明白。 |

按照第一张的测试给老大打了个分，基本上人家条条都满足，十足的
spirited child。书讲得不错，不要给孩子贴标签。基本上就是接收现实，
往好里想，换个角度看孩子，当时看了这本书才知道原来不止俺家孩子这样。
老二小的时候性格上要比哥哥好很多，我们还挺安慰的，没想到过了两岁半
后就越来越犟了。
他被老师说成strong-willed是因为从送幼儿园开始一直狠狠得哭了一周，
是那种不停大哭，哭到吐，还要哭，最后自己打自己的行为，让老师很
shock，我们也没想到会这样，然后老师就说他strong-willed。但是
一周后就不哭了，每天玩得挺好。而哥哥当时我记得哭了足足一个月，
只不过人家是去前在家里死嚎死哭，真的到了幼儿园也还好。后来换班，
接着哭，非要原小班老师到场安慰下才肯吃午饭。 |

才四岁，根本不可能分清楚什么时候可以坚持自己的感觉，什么时候要无条件服从（成
人有没有无条件服从的时候？面对老板？警察？制度？。。。什么时候学会的？）。
如果大人不知道如何从小教会孩子，有些事情要无条件服从， 那么对孩子来说“一切
”都要讲道理。既然讲道理，凭什么只能坚持大人的道理？
绕清楚了你就明白了。 不明白说明就没绕清楚。 :-) 这是个普遍存在的逻辑矛盾，家
家都要面对，人人都要面对。 如同gravity的存在－－了解不了解，承认不承认，都摆
脱不掉它。

孩子不算Strong willed. 她哪里都没错。错的是parent自己不了解某个道理。 不了解
的事自然教不会。 教不会（认识和能力）又躲不开（矛盾的事情）,自然会上火。 上
火了，往往会以为是孩子的责任（比如，是不是太strong will了）。

是谁，strong minded是成就一番事业的基本素质之一。软包子随遇而安的，不会有多

旁边一个男生夸我strong，我就说谢谢。
后来想这strong对女生来讲也不是啥好事，也不是我锻炼的目的。而且最近大吃大喝的
又增重了，我锻炼这么久脂肪都还在，肌肉可能是长了点儿，也没太看出来。不过这样
下去我可能真是越来越壮了，我该高兴还是上火呢？
我是很想减脂，可是对我这样不算胖的人还真难，我觉得我每次变瘦都和吃以及运动没
有任何关系。我夏天有两个多月几乎每天锻炼2小时，吃的也控制，也没见瘦多少。可
是之后不怎么锻炼一段时间就很容易变胖。最近又觉得自己胖了，是不是和我每天睡太
晚，睡时间太长也有关系呢。 |

be one of the final pieces" 讲上他几次，今年的招生成败在此一举。
上个月招生排名是47，今年all-american一个小孩commit，然后一把拉到了第35名。现
在还缺10来个左右，感觉今年从LSU OU TAMU挖角的这几个难度有点大，估计从那几个
uncommit的应该最后能招来7-8个，下个月的最终排名应该是15名左右，重现去年的一
把杀进TOP10有点难度了。

Livestrong foundation是1997年建立的非公益组织，为癌症患者提供援助和支持。最
开始是由Lance Armstrong因为罹患睾丸癌而建立，如今已成为最大的癌症主题的非公
益组织之一。
Live Strong是关于许多癌症存活者的小故事。
有治疗无数肺癌的医生自己也患上肺癌，带着自己的影像图片四处和人会诊；有大学最
后一学期因为癌症不得不按下生活的暂停键的年轻女孩，用全部力气投入治疗；有三十
岁的职业女性，惴惴不安请医生看看自己腋下的肿块，疏忽大意的医生告诉她——你不
会得乳腺癌的，事实却恰恰相反……每一个人的故事好像都不一样，每一个人的癌症不
一样，每一个人却都努力活下来（至少，书本出版的时候还活着）。
书读的时候很快，但是心情因为很严肃，所以很累。大概是读书的时候过于地
empathize，把自己完全代入，就像在读一个自己的，或者和自己很相似的人的故事。
我想来，pity和empathy的区别就在于——pity仅仅是感到遗憾可惜，而empathy是把对
