也许过几年会好些，但是这几年很难说，
表面上看north的成绩比west的好，因为他们没有neighborhood么。
其实这些考试的学校也都差不多，功夫在课外，还得靠家长督促。
既然成绩都差不多，就要靠距离来作最后选择了。 |

不了解。据说north用的新校长，west的校长还是west的校长。
怎么去认识啊，那么多学生，这一条说了还不是白说？！
除非你认为north没有neighborhood，所以生源好一些。
但是还有好几个gift也是跟neighborhood混合的呀。
而且总体来说，north入学分数上要低于west。
老师总体上都不错吧。太好的老师经常会跳漕哦。
在几所学校都差不多的情况下，
我给孩子选择的是离家近离我接送方便的了，
这个时候又需要考虑commute了，赫赫。
离的近的好处就是方便啊，
那天老师电话说孩子不舒服让去接，
接到电话五分钟我就把孩子接走了，孩子少吃苦我也不累。
有时候孩子起晚了赶不上校车或者天气不好不想让孩子在风雨中等校车我就送，顺道。

你要这么看，郊区的学校又不用考试录取，又是几千人的大学校（CENTRAL 4千人）。
肯定有垫底拉分的。华人的孩子，基本都在TOP10%。
你住城里，又不能保证孩子一定就能考上佩顿。我一个老中同事的孩子，那几个学校一
个都没考上。现在就整天为孩子操心。
另外就是环境要好多了。基本没有坏孩子。周围也安全/
俺家N次半夜没关车库门了，有一次还是警察叔叔来敲门的。这要在城里，基本窝都被
端了。
如果我们两口子都在城里上班，我肯定买城里的房子。
如果有一个不在，我就不打算买城里的房子。从环境看，NAPERVILLE显然比CHICAGO要
强多了。 |

不想给孩子太大的压力，考不上好高中要么上私立要么就搬家啦，
反正到时候老公该念的书也都念完了，不用离城里近了，工作也就那么回事了，
也该轮到我住个大房子享受享受了。：）
环境这事我承认，好的郊区治安肯定要比咱这里好，
不过你那个所谓“坏孩子”我觉得哪里都有吧。：）
老大，你说话比较实在，听着舒服，

能说出来让老大知道的肯定都是不错的，那不好的大概就不怎么交流了。
我认识几个中国人住在那里，那教育真是没的说，
有一个别说Top10%，你说5%或1%我都信。
反正我是挺看好那孩子的，恨不得现在就把娃娃亲给定了。：）
是，我们一直就是这么计划的，考不上就去郊区，不能耽误孩子，
考上就留在城里，干啥都方便么。：）.
刚才忘说了，对好孩子和坏孩子的理解我和老大的想法不同，
我觉得所谓的学区好的地方，只要家长有钱能买到那里的房子自然就能上那里的学校，
至于孩子是好是坏就难说了，反正只要住在那里就能上，对不对？
只能说家长“好”或者说经济条件“好”。当然，好的家长也会注重教育，教出好孩子
。：）
但是城里一些要考试的学校就不同，能考上的应该都不是太坏的孩子，

我看到NAPER一个高中学校的书, 排前20名和最高20％的学生姓名.
数一下其中中国学生, 再数一下中国学生总数in yearbook.
你会知道有多少百分比中国学生in top 20%.

"来自低收入家庭，刻苦学习，通过自己的努力去东部的顶尖大学.
其中一些孩子大学毕业后,靠奖学金赴英国, ...."
我们中国的孩子们,如果可能的话, 最好与他们多交朋友.

习。
确实，大部分CPS家长都不对TEACHER罢工表示愤怒。这个不止一家媒体说恶劣SUNTIMES
采访的大部分家长也是说理解TEACHER，支持罢工。
为什么？答案很简单。大部分CPS学生家长都是吃福利不交税的，所以TEACHER加工资增
加CPS负担最终增加纳税人负担影响不了他们。他们不CARE。他们也不CARE自己的孩子
是不是学得好。
孩子不毕业，学得不好，除了极少数人外，既和学校老师有关，更多的是和家长有关。
有什么样的家长就DESERVE什么样的学校和老师。 |

很多人这里都是中产阶级，小孩教育放在最重要的位置。
穷人家的小孩不是这样的。
他们去上学就是一个奇迹了，要多少爱心和责任感才能把他们教好，告诉他们可以追逐
自己的梦想。很多老中的小孩是幸运的，但是这些占多数的穷人家小孩去学校就是他们
一天最高兴的时候了，回家什么都没有。
老师的待遇就应该提高，我愿意多缴税到这些老师身上

了，就是CPS的烂校某个黑人学生被枪杀了新闻都要报的。
像俺这样每天无聊开两个小时车听两个小时NEWS780，上班还要把SUNTIMES从头翻到尾
的是不会错过的。
楼主这个说有几个学生自杀的肯定是张冠李戴了。

close. It used to be part of libertyville high school that splited to two
schools later.
In terms of high schooranking in illinois, Stevenson is ranked at 7 and
Vernon hills is 12.

More homeowners were underwater on their mortgages in the Chicago
metropolitan area in fourth quarter of last year, running counter to
improvement nationally, according to the latest report from CoreLogic.
In the Chicago area, 33.3 percent, or 506,838 homes with mortgages had
negative equity, meaning homeowners owed more on their homes than their
property was worth. That was up from 29.6 percent, or 451,250 homes, in the
