I heard it's one of the worst superbit. But the picture quality still
surprised me. It's clearly better than a normal DVD (even my wife can tell:)),
especially for a movie that is quite dark most of the time...seriously
thinking of getting more superbit... |

My DVD player is Toshiba SD3750...cheapest progressive scan player. TV is
quite good, Toshiba 34HF81 (new model 34HD82 is coming out).
Yeah, lots of shitty movies on superbit. "Fifth Element" is said to be the
best superbit and it's also an OK movie. I'm gonna upgrade this one first. |

after the battles began, it's really breathtaking, especially when they were
struggling for survival at the bottom of sea ...
so the superbit collection is worth the money? i watched the movie on a rented
vhs tape, and the local cc store only has the regular version, about $15.

got lots of good reviews. I didn't buy it just because it's a flipper.

是我就买什么superbit的版本或者是什么双碟或者三碟版本,内容比较多~
但是已经买过的单碟我是不会升级的;除非象上次LOTR一样,出了双碟版后又出了个四碟版,
骗我那么多钱...555~~
Columbia这种俱乐部都是先给你点甜头,后来的东西不就是特别便宜了,新碟至少要$19.95,
我都是要等他们有$10 off或者50% off出现,外加买3张就free shipping的前提下才完成
我的member commitment的.
DVD在新出的第一个星期,local store里面会比较便宜,什么Best Buy啊,Wal-Mart啊...
我一般看见便宜的就买回来了... |

我也不是说蓝光就是HD-DVD, 但是HD-DVD应该至少是比DVD更大容量的介质，IMO，hehe.
我的观点是Hi-fi发展中质的提高的关键是更大的介质而不是更好的压缩算法。DVD之所以
比VCD的优势就是因为有了更大的介质。介质的提高空间比算法大的多。现在虽然能够把
一部电影压成700MB的divx，但是质量和DVD还是有质的差距，虽然分辨率一样。Columbia
的superbit系列之所以还会有市场就证明了这一点。Bitrate is everything.说的极端点
。
Again, IMO, hehe, wm9HD is not HD-DVD. At least they're not labeled to be.
HD-DVD doesn't exist yet, period.
如果HD-DVD的标准不能统一（现在看来好像的确很难），就很有成为SACD和DVD-audio一
样失败的可能。如果最终wm9之类的仍然装在一张D9上的东西成为了HD-DVD的标准，那将
