decision to keep Auburn quarterback Cam Newton eligible “surprising” and
claims it puts college athletics on a “slippery slope.”
Swofford said Friday he’ll express his concerns with NCAA officials and
hopes the governing body takes a hard look at the issue.
The NCAA ruled Wednesday that Newton was unaware his father had concocted a
pay-for-play scheme during his recruiting and allowed Newton to play for No.

Here is the news.
The Bowl Championship Series is coming to ESPN starting in January 2011 (
following the 2010 regular season).
ESPN and the BCS announced the deal on Tuesday. It includes exclusive
television, radio, digital, international and marketing rights for the
Fiesta, Orange and Sugar Bowls from 2011-2014 and the BCS title game from
2011 to 2013.

Football is only the money maker. The push would be that when ACC's BCS AQ
is in jeopardy. ACC official screwed up FSU several times in past season,
especially the Clem-FSU game (21 pts to Clem as the result). Now, Clem laid
the biggest egg in ACC bowl history. Big slap in Swofford's face!! pia!

— yet keeping its football independence.
The school’s president, the Rev. John I. Jenkins, and athletic director
Jack Swarbrick joined league Commissioner John Swofford and three ACC
presidents for a news conference Wednesday announcing the Irish’s move from
the Big East.
The ACC also increased its exit fees for league schools to three times the
annual operation budget — which would currently come to more than $50

start searching for a new athletic director.
Dick Baddour said Thursday he plans to step down after 14 years as soon as
the school can hire a replacement. Entering the final year of a three-year
contract that expires next June, Baddour said it's important for his
successor to name the next football coach instead of inheriting a hire.

not the coaches, not the players and certainly not the fans. They are
arranged marriages of convenience designed to stave off the tumult in
college athletics and maximize future revenues, essentially making the rich

发帖数: 1286 | 10 就是让UNC和Duke（谁叫Duke绑定UNC了呢）滚蛋。只要这两个学校还在，ACC将永远以
篮球为中心，足球学校处于二等公民地位，真正的足球尖子生是不愿意来的。ACC现在
的commissioner John Swofford就是UNC毕业的，还是以前UNC的AD。这样的人把持ACC
，结果就是ACC扩军时不去招WVU，Boise State这些足球强校，却招来两个只会玩篮球
的。是的，以后ACC篮球至少不是UNC和Duke唱双簧戏了，但是足球水平只会每况愈下。
ACC是大刀阔斧改革的时候了，开除UNC和Duke（送给大东最好，反正是篮球联盟），把
ACC总部从什么北卡的Greensboro（从没听说过的鸟不拉屎的地方）搬到亚特兰大。 |

ACC最撮的应该是 WF 和 BC。当然这都不是主要的，大家都是均贫富，Texas那么有钱
不也带着 一大堆 Big12的小弟吗？ 问题是 现在的 Commissioner John Swofford 就
是典型的北卡帮，什么事都只听 UNC和 Duke的，自己也是北卡本地人，当过UNC 10几
年的AD。 FSU要出走，最近的导火索是 ACC跟 ESPN的合同，据说把 football的 third
-tier rights都送走了，而把 basketball 的third-tier rights留下了，虽然 这个
third-tier rights一般都不是什么大比赛，但是 这个明显偏向 篮球，北卡学校的做
法 让一直不满的 FSU 更加不爽了。而且据说 这个每年1700W只有 2021年才开始拿，
之前都只有1400，而且 ACC还要打 以前总来不打的 Friday night game,总之这个合同
跟屎 一样。

Louisville, signed a grant of media rights, the ACC announced. The deal,
which is effective immediately, runs through the current TV contract between
ESPN and the ACC, set to expire in 2027.
