Levi-Strauss在《Look, Listen, Read》中讲Poussin的画前谈到一点对《追忆似水年
华》的看法，用了这样一个单词：syncretism。他引述Jean-Louis Curtis话说道，“
在《追忆》中，时间既没有被失去也没有被发现；那里惟有一种既没有过去也没有未来
的时间，一种特定于艺术创造的时间。这正是为什么小说中的时序总是显得那样的模糊

嚴格來說，在基督新教世界裡福音派(Evangelicalism)和基要派 (Fundamentalism)
是可以分辨的，但是這兩者的關係卻緊密結合(參見 圖表四)，所以常常被一起討論(參考
Marsden 1987)。福音派興起於十八世紀，到十九世紀初期時，已影響世界各地的傳教區

发帖数: 655 | 9 陶弟兄的受洗，使笔者在教会里暂时站稳了脚跟。不过从这件事情中，也让笔者得出以
下也许互不兼容的教训（lessons）。一是都说神的行踪诡秘（God moves in
mysterious ways),陶弟兄的经历就是证明。陶弟兄不愿服软（也许服软也没用），因
此与太太的冷战还不知要不要打到猴年马月。然而陶弟兄受洗的消息一传出（或许陶弟
兄因为有了神学院这个新去处做后盾，所以也增强了自信，敢于以平等的身份与太太抗
争了），结果反倒以太太服软告终，从而挽救了一桩婚姻，因此谁敢说神不全知全能,
无所不在？
二是容易到手的东西，失去的也快。陶先生的“重生”没有建立在对圣经和基督教的了
解上，或许只是一时冲动。结果，风来了，雨来了，建立在沙滩上的房子便让浪头冲走
了。三就是，只追求数量，数人头，以管理企业推销产品的精神来经营教会，虽然表面
上轰轰烈烈，其实却是空中楼阁，华而不实，及至将教会庸俗化。然而这却成了grow a
church的不二法门。
然而尽管陶弟兄对笔者来说好像是得而复失，然而挽救了人家一段姻缘，应该也算是胜

到很大的打击，自此没落。现存西安的景教大秦寺外型和佛塔极为相似，景教的经文在
翻译过程中亦套用了不少佛教用语，如四福音书的作者，均改以“法王”称呼：马太是
明泰法王、路加是卢珈法王、马可是摩距辞法王、约翰唤成瑜翰法王；教堂叫作“寺”
；大主教叫“大法王”；教士自然叫作“僧”。上帝的称呼则取叙利亚文Alaha音译，叫
作“皇父阿罗诃”，亦有按照道教规则，以“天尊”称之。
天主教耶稣会在明朝传入中国，当时的翻译亦直接借用了一些道教和佛教用语，如上帝
本来是指道教玉皇大帝，圣母可以指佛母或妈祖等。
在中国佛教及道教影响下，景教有发展成综合主教（Syncretism）的倾向。大秦景教流
行中国碑的作者景净曾著有《志玄安乐经》，教导世人如何得到安乐。经文按照儒家经
典《中庸》的格式撰写，渗入“无为”、“清净”等中国哲学概念，经文曰：“无动无
欲，则不求不为。无求无为，则能清能净。能清能净，则能晤能正。能晤能证，则遍照

──诺斯底派的世界观与当今正统护教的任务
护教的动机与历史鉴戒
教会在每一个时代都必须认真地拾起护教的责任。护教的任务包括什么？积极方面，护
教者必须宣讲真理 – 护教的目的，不是讨好世人，护教的动机是将人的心意夺回，信
服基督 （林后十4-5）。我们不可以出于惧怕的心来从事护教的工作：我们不必，也绝
不应该怕十字架的福音会得罪世人，因而重新包装我们的福音 “信息” 来迎合世人的
喜好。十字架对世人来说，不是绊脚石，就是愚拙，这是《圣经》明明的教导；可是对
于那些蒙神大能的恩典而得救的人，福音总是神的能力，神的智慧 (参考：哥林多前书
，第一 ，二章) 。
消极方面，护教者必需指出每一个时代的思潮背后的世界观 (worldview)。世界观包括
人对宇宙，神，灵界等的信念；这是 “形上学” (metaphysics) 方面的信念。世界观
也包括人对真理，知识等的信念，与科学，哲学之间的关系；这是 “知识论” (epist
emology)方面的信念。护教的任务，是攻破世人思维的营垒 – 就是那些拦阻人来到基
督面前顺服信靠祂的事情 – 哥林多后书十4 ，5。
