原来的 tall fescue 不是长的好好的么？
我担心有其他原因。你有看到过水淹那个地方吗？就是水完全盖住
soil，有一片水面的那样子。能够 last 多长？
一般人故意把地势搞低来排水。在低的地方埋 draining pipe.
如果你的低的地方是人工搞的，多半是这样的。
还有疑问是为什么前几年排水没有成问题，如果完全是排水的问题
的话，你的 tall fescue 早就挂了。
Tall Fescue 还有另外一个硬伤是 yellow patch. 一种菌类疾病。
不加控制的话经常一片一片搞死 Tall Fescue. 比较湿，比较高 N
就容易触发。
放心，Tall Fescue 好像没有其他的硬伤了。综合性能 Tall Fescue
还是非常强的。
建议你现在就去买草种，千万不要去 HD 买。要买 sod quality
的种子。 HD 的价位太低，肯定不是 sod quality，你从来没有
看到标明杂草含量是不是？为了省几块钱买比较差的种子以及买杂
草种子是非常不划算的。 |

这种情况通常做法是全部 Round Up 然后种 KBG.
tall fescue 没有什么针对性的药，而且 tall fescue 比
KBG 皮实。老美就是引进 KBG 很多地方种不活，太热，缺水
才引进 tall fescue 的。你希望 KBG 把 tall fescue
掐死那是不太容易。
Tall fescue 有一种病叫 brown patch. 如果能成功引入的
话没准。从来没有听说有人这么干过就是了。 |

7a 按道理来说是挺适合 Tall Fescue 的。 Tall Fescue 如果
根长好了，夏天肯定是可以熬过来的，没有冬天长那么舒服就是了。
干草可以用 rake 挖掉或者浅浅一层 till 一下。不要 till 深。
可以拔， clover 你的草维护好了基本长不起来，而且有针对
clover 的特效药。不是很难对付的东西。你图方便直接 roundup
也可以。
Tall Fescue, KBG 应该都可以。
Tall Fescue 最好不要 Mix, 因为 Tall Fescue 不会根部蔓延。（前沿
基因改良的品种除外）。这样和其他草混不到一起去，因为 Tall Fescue
一稀疏就容易扎堆那样一个一个鼓包。 |

发帖数: 2795 | 28 我没有楼主这么多工具，只有一把锄头，一把Husky 16-Tine Bow Rake。
今年春季补种小部分面积的草坪以失败告终，今年秋天播了差不多35LBs种子。我没有
大面积全部推倒重来，而是零零碎碎地补种。对于新补种的草坪，有满意的地方，也有
遗憾之处。
主要吃不准种子的属性。开始以Kentucky BlueGrass （KBG）为主，但感觉KBG生长很
慢，对于小面积补种，KBG很难均匀生长（注：没有那种自动浇水系统，而是手拿喷头
人工洒水），经常出现bare spots.在新种的地方（bare spots）继续撒种，长出来还
是不行，第三次试图再补的时候，天气的温度已经不行了。
在10月中旬的时候，开始转换思路，买了8Lbs（5+3） Tall Fescue，明显感觉：Tall
Fescue生长的均匀性强过KBG。
准备明年秋季，继续大面积补种Tall Fescue。特别说明：在KBG生长良好的地方，KBG
草坪相比tall Fescue草坪漂亮很多。但是，Tall Fescue草坪似乎不需要伺侯，且生长
速度明显快于KBG。
补种新草过程中，翻土和清理杂草，实在是苦差事。 |

其他嫌疑，chick weed, speed well 但是不是很像.
你的 Turf 应该是没有改良过的 Tall Fescue.
和我的气候比较接近。
很不幸的告诉你， Tall Fescue 有很多优点。但是也有
硬伤，其中之一的硬伤就是不会从根部扩展，一定要种子
发芽。也就是说，你死掉的那些 Tall Fescue 多浇水自己
是长不出来的。需要从新 seed.(或者移草皮）。
好消息是，九月份一般是 seed Tall Fescue 的好季节。

这个其实没有什么定论，有些是个人喜好问题。因为草有
不同的特性。没有什么草一通天下的好，所以很多是
权衡那些特性是你偏爱的。我喜欢的不一定是你喜欢的。
我喜欢深绿的，叶子小，抗霉菌。那就牺牲一些耐交通，
因为叶子大的比较耐踩。简单的说我是喜欢好看的多过
实用的。
参考数据是 http://www.ntep.org 专门衡量草的rating.
找 Tall Fescue report. (2006) 看你的地区那些草比较
好。
很多 sod farm 不告诉你是那些种子，他们有自己的 brand.
例如 Bay Area contractor 比较喜欢用的 Paccific Sod,
他们有 Medallion Tall Fescue 是口碑比较好的. 但是不
告诉你是什么种子 mix 出来的，你没有办法看数据。黑吧。
而且很多时候还要看你买的店有没有。很多好的品种种的人
不多，种子少。
我买的是Faith Tall Fescue, Firecracker LS Tall Fescue,
and Rhambler Tall Fescue 的 mix.在 seed s |

the traditional tall fescue. The most common old fashion
tall fescue is K31. It is very tough, the only draw back
seems to the look.

Marathon 是 Tall Fescue 的一种。
你看看丫 Marathon 吹的 USDA ranking 都是什么时候的 data 了，1990!
而且草坪最权威的评比 NTEP (National Turf Evaluation Program)
从 2000 年 Marathon/Hubbard 87/Baja都不上榜的，你以为人家十多年
研发出来的前沿草的品种都是白给的啊。我现在种的 Tall Fescue 就是
比较前沿的 Tall Fescue. Rating 最高的三种 mix. 这些 Sod farm 都是
没有的。Sod farm 只种比较老的品种，因为种子可以大量买到，风险比较
小。Sod farm 的生产周期是两到三年，不能冒险。
你种 Marathon 还不如我现在种的 TTTF 呢。
Marathon 再强，还是 Tall Fescue, 毕竟是寒带的草。
用水量还是不能和我给你说的三种热带草比的。最强的狗的品种也干
不过随便一只狮子的。我知道你喜欢省水，就直接跳过了 Tall Fescue 了。

girl. 然后说healthy and strong body最重要，然后就扯到昨天读的Berenstain bear
故事了，举例说，为什么Too-tall(一个大熊)敢bully其他bears？
娃说，because he is very strong.
然后我突然想起来那个Milton也很strong. Too-Tall也欺负他。就问娃为什么Too-tall
也敢欺负Milton.其实心里想，娃也就是说Milton是新来的，或者Milton比较nerdy之类
的。
结果娃不加思索的说，Because Too-tall’s daddy is the most biggest biggest
massive bear in the bear country.

watch from the 5th row to the dance floor. It's more money but still beats
the trip to Japan or Blackpool.
None of my pictures taken came out well. The spot light was too strong,
which wiped out the color, and dancers mover too fast. -- I think this only
says iphone camera is not professional for such an event.

, she worried about me being too tall and it was hard to find a tall LG in
HK. It turns out, my LG is not from HK, but from Shanghai.
I were a tall kid at the beginning, and stop growing @ age 13. Now, my
mom starts to worry the height of my daughter, she asks me not let her grow
too much. I said it is always good to be tall. I don't mind my daughter
reaches 180 cm, like you Gilda, or Coco's daughter.
