(UK) reads: "Tax move by Brazil risks US trade war" - Tarrifs to be raised
on American goods.
The Lex column on todays' FT also mentioned "Brazil tarrif riff" said: "Many
years ago a US trade delegate "negotiating" with his Australian counterpart
allegedly leant across the table and said: "We eat countries like you for
breakfast." |

无非从日韩台改成美国而已;汽车而言，整车进口就算没有关税也会比国产车贵很多，
更何况还有大量的合资品牌。好比同样是Ford Fusion，无论是厂家还是消费者，从成
本和价格考虑，肯定都prefer合资厂的产品。至于金融，只要中国人民币不能自由兑换
，中国抓住"外汇管制"的上方宝剑，华尔街就别想做割羊毛的美梦。。。最大的问题是
，川大大这次拿tarrif吓唬人的目的是在知识产权方面，就是美国开始惧怕中国在通信
技术等领域对美国造成的威胁。中国就算把所有现有芯片改成美国进口，研发芯片，5g
，AI等的步伐不但不会因此而减慢，反而会加速。 |

it is has abused its trading position for decades.
Europe is diversifying oil supply away from Mid East and will not accept
costly U.S. gas, China does not wish to rely on future U.S. food supplies

Countries are taking this as an opportunity to make better long term deals

Taking agricultural goods as an example,
the tariff for bean will drop to 3%
beef 45% to 12%
pork 20% to 12%
wine 70% to 20%
cheese 50% to 12%
icecream from 45% to 12%
Isn't that worrisome? Especially when I read the tarrif for auto part will
drop
to 0%, computer and other etronic equipment will drop to 0%, and a lot of key
market
such as networking, mobilephone,banking,and stock will be open pret |

health care providers. I know a recent regulatory change in Beijing which
raised the requirement on initial equity investment to 20 million RMB for
foreign-owned hospitals. Certainly a type of non-tarrif barrier, which I
think is a good thing, because a safety net has to be in place to protect
the domestic market. |

and I got tarrif invoices for the last two purchases:((
For the two us website, they usually will show the original price and the
reduced one, range 10%-70% bah. |
