看2000入学率到顶峰 然后互联网泡沫破裂，学CS的市场饱和找不到工作，导致2007入
学率低谷, 感觉专业也像股市一样，冷热周期循环。不知道这次的增长什么时候到顶峰
。

发帖数: 57 | 8 今年找教职接近尾声，最到后基本是在两个选择中决定，A和B。
A在大城市（按一些数据看美国十大城市之一？），交通和周边教育资源都不错，但学
校综合（严格说是本科），工程学院及自己的专业方向上全都是RNP，没排名 (按
usnews)。
B在大农村，可以说是非常Rural 到附近的稍大点城市都要2小时以上车程，综合100以
后，不过工程和专业都在前80, 从面试感觉来看也整体明显比A在学术环境上强。
两offer 给的工资按所处位置消费水平来看都是平均水平（按Taulbee survey)，所以A
高一些；但A的startup 只有B一半，moving expense reimbursement 也是B高不少 (最
后这一项我不是很介意，孤家寡人，几乎没什么东西）。
两校都有自己专业上的PHD program，但A比B在faculty/grad. student size和
research area coverage上都是明显小的。
想听听大家会怎么选择。自己背景比较弱，位置和学校都比较好点的也投了都没有拿到
，只有这么两个比较极端的选择（要么太偏僻，要么学校无排名招生堪忧）。

academia continues for the 2006-07 Ph.D. graduates (Table 4) Table 4. Of
those who reported employment, 32% chose academic employment in North
America (compared to 33%, 43% and 60%, respectively, in the previous three
years)."

该表显示: 06-07年毕业PhD总人数为1775, 报告了毕业去向的为1456, 占82%. 32% x
82% = 26%. 至少26%去academia是肯定的 |

薪水达到25万
