a few hundred bucks. The best thing is it is temperary, you can remove it
very easy with almost no sign left. |

Tenure track一般隶属于某个院系。Research Professor一般受聘于研
究中心。
我这里的Research Professor的确是大牛，研究基金很多,属于faculty。中心里很多教
授在院系里有教职，所以他们的title是Professor，在研究中心里有兼职，也是
faculty。Research Professor的主要工作是写grant和发文章。
研究中心里还有一类faculty不教书，他们的title是Research Scientist。
Research Professor地位高很多，因为在中心里都是Research Scientist在帮Research
Professor干活。Research Scientist靠基金项目支撑自己职位的压力没有Research
Professor大，主要工作是帮助Research Professor承担某个项目的具体操作，有发文
章的压力。

我2008年暑假从A州搬到现在的B州,我太太还在另外一个州读书.所以我们的汽车主要在
我这边.2009年去B州所在的DMVregister,他们以我太太没有驾照为由说我的车不能在B
州register。因为我2007年买新车时,我和我太太的名字都在title上,我太太没有驾照,
根据B州的法律我不能在B州注册交税,所以2009年还是交的A州的税.现在我收到B州
Department of Assessment的信要求我交B州的税或给出不交的理由,比个如在B州只是
temperary等.

是那些上来发问的人，回国后也没有后续的update，所以看着也不踏实。最后还是因为
国内有重要事情，咬牙回去了。现在顺利回美国，希望给有类似疑问的同学吃一颗定心
丸。
个人背景：
去年7月工科硕士毕业，OPT去年9月开始。由于不好找工作，一直在原来导师手下作
part time 的research technician （20hr/week）。有EAD card，但是上面的过期时
间是2011/09，就是OPT开始后的1年。另外17个月的extension要再申请一次。目前还没
有申请。I-20上面已经标明OPT开始，I-20的过期时间和EAD的过期时间一样。
签证预约：
看了大使馆的说明，如果是学生返签，没有换学校和专业，签证过期在1年之内，就强
制中信递签。我打电话预约的时候，他们也说必须递签，就算约上了，风险自己承担。
吓的我第一次打电话就说再考虑一下就匆匆挂断。但是后来递签还是时间比较长，而且
像我这种特殊情况，当面说可能比较能说得清楚。所以第二个电话我就直接说，我要预
