她生在希腊Teichio小山村，长在雅典，1967年“被迫离开当时环境压抑的祖国”，去
巴黎学人种音乐学（ethnomusicology，酷！）。“1974年民主回归希腊后”回雅典创
办传统乐器演奏家实验室，创作了大量电影音乐（《克里斯多菲斯的徘徊》(Christofis's Wandering)这个电影有名吗？）。抄虾米电台上的简介，里面提到的Vangelis也很喜欢，还有曾经和Vangelis同组乐队的Demi Roussos，都是希腊的骄傲：

看了版上的书评后看的这本书，很喜欢。他写的那些学中文，适应在一个陌生国家的生
活的心情，都非常像我刚到美国时的感觉。他刚开始学四川话时，觉得它和普通话简直
没有任何关系，非常沮丧地想，这不是得学两门外语嘛！呵呵
他的视角大多是在平民百姓身上，看他们怎么生活，怎么顺应变化。特别是这种顺应，
让他很是感叹。这应该是美国人最不熟悉的处事方式了。

他的短篇小说现在很火，差点得了 National Book Award. 还是个 MacArthur 天才。
