Not a Fun Action Movie
23 March 2011 | by xenominim (United States) – See all my reviews
To start off, I like dumb action movies, I even liked 300 and Watchmen. But
this is a terrible movie for two very good reasons. One is the characters,
which is to say there are none. Nobody has a personality in this movie, you
could swap the main character for any one of the other girls and it wouldn't
make the slightest bit of difference, she's just 'special' because the plot
demands it. Yes it's a dumb ...

I can't believe all the great reviews ANDROID is getting. At one time or
another I've used most of the mobile operating systems outhere, and Droid is
by far the worst! (I have Verizon Motorola Droid 2). Its obvious Google
lucked out that Jobs made a bad deal with AT&T, and Verizon users are
desperate for something they think is equivalent to the iPhone.

Apple has released a new television ad featuring the iPhone 4S and Siri,
featuring legendary film director Martin Scorsese. The director uses Siri to
reschedule appointments, find where a friend is, and see how traffic is in
Manhattan.
Scorsese: What's my day look like?
Siri: Another busy day today.
Scorsese: Are you serious?
Siri: Yes, I'm not allowed to be frivolous.
Scorsese: Ah, OK. Move my 4 o'clock today to tomorrow. Change my 11AM to 2.
Siri: OK, Marty. I sch... 阅读全帖

Copy and Paste
A combination of interfaces and good ol’ copy and paste is the way Go
currently implements sortable slices. This is of course a terrible, terrible
idea. The names of your types will end up being StringSet, IntSet, and
FloatSet. When you find a bug you’ll be forced to go through all of the
instances where you copied and pasted, fix it and hope you don’t miss any.
This is clearly not a sustainable way to ‘implement’ generics.

As you folks are discussing Cori, I happened to read his autobiography and
find it both interesting and enlightening:)))...BTW, it sounds Richard Axel
is a lot nicer than what I/we have heard...or in another word, his cruelty
is rooted in his obsession with science and indifference to humanity:))); As
well, it is pretty...he noted Cori but left his ex out...pretty human or
not human?

I agree with lz that domestic master programs are purely trash.
In theory, domestic master programs should do some good:
1. Prepare students with some math. Domestic undergraduate econ education is terrible--it does not matter in the long run, as lz argues, but it is terrible. Master program can let graduates know what on earth econ is, and then self select.
2. Train students with statistical skills/softwares, which are useful in the private sector, given that they self select out of academia

Job market for law is terrible terrible right now,IP is doing slight better
than the other fields.
It goes back how strong your language ability is, if you are as good as
native speaker, a median student at GTLC should land a pretty decent summer
association position.
Living expenses in dc is not too bad, all the major law market is around
major metropolitan area, think about bay area, boston, new york. (Dallas is
maybe the only exception).
Just for your consideration, a few friends of mine are ... 阅读全帖
