There is no fine line between GOOD and BAD. And most of the case, GOOD could
be created from BAD.
One example is Shenzhen. 30 years ago. It was considered a very bad place to
live. 30 years later, it is at least one of the top cities in China.
Tianhe District in Guangzhou is another case.
So as for our communities. There are still districts in Bay area that is
more affordable than Cuptertino, Sunnyvale, Palo Altos, Los Altos.

超级计算机500强排行榜，日本超级计算机
“京”则以每秒8162万亿次的实测运算速度跻
身榜首，中国的“天河一号”排名降至第二，
但中国进入榜单的超级计算机总数在全球仅次于
美国。
这份排行榜还显示，中国的超级计算机数量不
断增加，包括实测运算速度达2600万亿次的
“天河一号”和排名第四的“星云”在内，进
入排行榜的超级计算机系统已达62个，第三名
德国是30个。中国超级计算机系统无论是总数
还是累计峰值运算能力都超过了德、日、法等
传统的超级计算机大国，美国则以256个遥遥
领先于其他所有国家。

估计一些专用的材质，渲染运算不行，不适合当GPU
话说丫512SIMD和龙芯一个路子，1.2GHz, 61核就能到1.2T的性能
每个核一周期16个双精度运算，512/64=8,估计是FMA算俩了 |

数据带宽也高得多。
60cores，240threads，还真是有点强大，不知道主要弱点在哪里？openmp

I did a little googling. Yes this is the one who designed the Eclipse MV/
8000 with Tom West and other guys. For those of you who have read "The soul
of a new machine"(一代新机器的灵魂), you know who I'm talking about. hehe...
Amazing to see a hero of my childhood is still relevant and connects to
China in a suprising way. |

不过后来这个朋友普及说这个key(coin)的generation是用(GPGPU)
super computer来算math problem出来的,然后这种problem set是有
上限的, 不像美元超发, 导致美国人越来越不相信美元. 自己就是做并行计
算的, 听了觉得不怎么靠谱, 没有理由的就觉得像庞兹骗局? 而且
supercomputer是很严格的,oak ridge也不是轻易能用的. 难道是用
tianhe来弱势美元的? 呵呵, 瞎猜
不过最近没有来得及找资料深入看看, 等下个周末有空看看
个国家都不允许 |
