demolition的意思。前面铺了3层tile的地，不拆也不行啊，地不平，估计只能铺vinyl

对，是porcelain tile,当时装修的时候，这种tile刚上市不久，安装方式也和传统
tile不太一样，接缝比较宽，现在就是脏了，很难看。
有了这种cleaner，还是得跪着擦吧？有没有什么好用的工具推荐？
我平时不怎么做家务，比较苯，呵呵 |

on the original underlayer. What size of tile do you recommend? Do I need a

natural stone material with under floor heating element. You may want to
cosider mosaic tiles for your bathroom, some large pieces can get very
slipery when wet.

Depending on your room size and tile size, buy 10% more, even more if your
bathroom is small, you will need cut/waste some on the edge. If you using
mosaic tile, maybe not so much waste.
2． 买瓷砖，工具，大牛们能不能说说都需要买什末？
Just the basic stuff, HD or Lowes people can help you. But if you are
tilling your shower, I would suggest you use Kerdi system, not only does it
come with very nice looking drain, it will not leak (very important)
3． 拆掉马桶，墙下边的护脚板，柜子下边的小木条，揭掉原有的所料地板

。当然houston 大夏天的时候，会希望越清凉越好，可是最热的时候也就那么四五个月
不是。把夏天和冬天都考虑进来，wood是比较适中的。另外，我觉得tile看着会觉得
cheap了一点，而且过于冰凉会少了家的温馨感。 |

是要我们自己出算upgrade, 其实我们选的是很基本的tile，在shower room里铺一个很
简单的deco, 一个方的里叫几块菱行而已。还有Jacuzzi上就是半度墙。地上没有花纹
，最简单的13×13. 就这些怎么可能要5200 upgrades？我们很气愤不过也没办法，就

他装多少钱，说也要1500-1800。我们家厨房挺小的，我事先量过，counter space总共
就36 sq ft，加上back splash也才50 sq ft，我在lowes看见有7-8块的granite tile
，如果labor按一样的价钱per sq ft算，我原来估算是800-1000左右。而且我们这
lowes有special, granite slab $39 per sq ft installed,所以我就算装slab也才
2000多。大家说这个contractor是不是太漫天要价了？ |

价格是$250，加上边角和散料应该不到500，比$2000-3000的slab还是便宜不少。

自己做是可行的。那些牛鼻的边和角在floor and decor outlet有卖的，floor and
decor outlet有好多granite tile做成countertop的实例。
总之，肯定不如整块石头的好看，如果价钱是1000 vs. 2000，建议选整块石头的。
如果自己做能降低成本到500以下，还是可以考虑，毕竟跟换个新的laminate差不多价

不小心撒了水了就容易滑倒。rug要买质地厚实大块的，不然也在上面滑。二是太显脏
了。必须天天擦。我是用swifer wetjet，擦完还得用paper tower再过一遍，劳命伤财
，另外缝里卡脏东西特别明显。现在用的是仿石头表面那种tile, 不太滑不显脏，两三
天用steam mop拖一遍就好 |

问题是：
1. 铺backsplash的话，尤其是灶头位置，会不会有heat resistance的问题，比如长期
高温下变色变形甚至释放毒素等，另外vinyl tile容易引起火警吗？
2. 铺楼梯的话有没有容易脱落滑倒的问题？

店里有现成的仿木条， 中间用胶水沾在地下水泥上， 一边高出地板一点，压住地板。
这简单， 但问题是， 加了这条以后， 这就在两个厅之间鼓起了一条。
俺现在的打算是， 将结合部的 laminate 板（12mm）切 45度角， 然后加一条木板，
木板边相应切 45度角， 取 laminate 一样厚。 这样， 就是一个平滑的过渡。
不知道有人这么作过没有？ |
