我们现在想换掉窗帘。去店里一看，营业员说，我们一定要挂valance--就是上面一小
块布，要不然窗帘两边一拉，窗帘杆中间白色的部分就露出来了，很老土。她说的是真
的吗？

众所周知，中国虽然是乙肝大国，关于乙肝病毒的研究最发达的国家却是美国。
所以，中国医生嘴里的吃饭不传播乙肝病毒当然是转述自西方流行病研究的成果。但真

brokerage account 加 TOD （transfer on death) to 继承人
这就是个简单的表格跟你的银行或投行填一下，免费的，除非他们要求签名要公证。

如果是代购，越贵越值。
比如昨天陪一国内来扫货的朋友去woodbury，tod's的一蛇皮小包，标价1300，半价促
销，人家比较了半天颜色，愉快的拿下。俺不会买，但是能理解，估计正价在2000左右。
还有一些看不懂的Michael Kors，感觉是进macys的大路货，但是人家说国内火的很，
一口气拿了6，7个钱包。 走的时候，2个大的samsonite，装了一堆包，coach 7，8个
，tory burch，furla，long champ，tumi每种2，3个。
来的时候只有一个双肩包，回到酒店理货，大包套小包，小包套钱包，一个箱子塞满。
另一个箱子等第二次去woodbury装衣服鞋子护肤品。 |

1. 商场购物：
美国的商场每年都有几次“挥泪大甩卖”，主要集中在圣诞节，劳工节，独立日，感恩
节等美国主要节日。商场的周年庆折扣幅度也非常大。如果不急用，可以等这些
Holiday season打折时大批量采购。在这些节日降价开始时，经常会有100美元买台几
千美元的液晶电视等便宜事，当然如果你想抢到为数不多的几个名额，你可能要带个睡
袋提前一天去商场门前排队。平时如果在商场看到喜欢的东西可以等等，服装基本上在
上市1个半月后会开始一再打折。还有认识的留学生排队抢购了多台低价电脑，然后到
ebay甩卖，每台赚个2，3百美元。
2. 折扣店购物：
如Rossshalls, TJMax, Burlington Factory, Loehmann's等，里面专门卖从各大商场
甩出来的断码货，价格十分便宜。平时我常去Ross和TJMax买衣服，比如Nike运动裤只
用10美元，比专卖店划算。

第一章离开
传说，仙境有一个地方叫 “诛仙台” 神仙跳下去则神力尽毁，而凡人跳下去
则灰飞烟灭。
夏飞雪当然不是一个神仙，也不会与仙境 “诛仙台” 有任何关联。只不过夏
飞雪喜欢清静，不愿沾染恶俗，生来耿直，受不了冤枉与胁迫。因此，她的父母就给她
取了这么一个名字，夏飞雪，六月飞雪必有冤情，提醒她不要受不了那丁点儿委屈。
回首夏飞雪走过的这八年，喜乐的事情很多很多，但是匪夷所思的事情也不少
。前几年，夏飞雪去参加这里中午的瑜伽，出来时衣服竟然被人偷了。然后，还有整个
部门聚餐，买了一个蛋糕送给即将离职的夏飞雪，接替夏飞雪的姑娘把蛋糕上的几个祝
福的字，用奶油摸得乱七八糟。最后一天时，夏飞雪坐在位置上生闷气，此姑娘还抓起
桌子上厚厚的纸，砸向夏飞雪。
夏飞雪爱哭，但都最后一天了，不过就是跳个 “诛仙台” 要不神力尽毁，要
不灰飞烟灭，有什么了不起的呢？于是，这些鸡毛蒜皮的小事，也就被夏飞雪埋在了过

不能说'还是'吧,还是-好象一直很高似的,赫赫
起码CS领域以前要求并不高
现在水涨船高,那肯定是*也*要看paper的
但可能与美国相比,paper/学校和导师的牛度,所占的比重未必那么大
这里的教师除非是最好的那几所,未必要做很强的研究去保tenure
所以如果谈教学,英语好,人品好很重要
归根到底是要系主任觉得你好,从观察下来看,一个好的人脉很重要
每年的计算机年会,新或将新的博士都积极参加,去结识那些大教授...
昨天刚和人说呢,现在新加坡,香港,美国的博士都来澳大利亚找职位
某些领域如数据库,N篇sigmod, tods, tkde, vldb也只能做post-doc
这在5或3年前是不敢想象的
