上次读完David Mitchell的《The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet》以后，对于
现代化以前的日本产生了很浓厚的兴趣。《The Thousand Autumns》的故事年代是十八
世纪末，十九世纪初，当时跟日本有生意往来的西方国家只有荷兰了。关于这本《The

我特别喜欢读长篇小说，可以跟随小说的人物在不同的时空历险。小说要是短了，人物
和环境刚刚认识和熟悉，马上就要分手，感觉非常不爽。所以我对一千页左右的小说情
有独钟，正好，这本《Shogun》落入了这个Sweet Spot……

日本核泄漏发生之后，政府发出公告称，不能为民众检查核辐射情况。于是许多人
便自发组织起来。东京市民Takeo Hayashida就参与了类似的一个民间组织，在他儿子
的棒球场附近测试核辐射情况。
据《纽约时报》报道，日本政府认为，东京距离福岛灾区250多公里，因此民众没
有必要担心核辐射。但Takeo Hayashida测试结果显示，棒球场土壤中的铯辐射值相当
于切尔诺贝利受污染地区量值，而棒球场是这个民间组织和核研究中心发现的20多个东
京辐射超标地区中的一个。
福岛核事故的严重程度仅次于切尔诺贝利核事故，辐射物质随着风和降水进行扩散
