文昌航天发射场腾空而起，它的乘客——由实践十七号卫星和远征二号上面级组成的载
荷组合体已成功进入预定轨道。记者从国防科工局、国家航天局获悉，实践十七号卫星
将开展地球同步轨道通信广播业务，并择机开展空间碎片观测、新型电源、电推进等多
项新技术验证工作。
作为长五大火箭的首批乘客，实践十七号卫星的“娘家”是中国空间技术研究院。
该院介绍，“实践十七号”，是一颗同步轨道新技术试验卫星，采用东方红四S平台，
体重近4吨。卫星总设计师王典军表示，此次在长五首飞任务中进行搭载试验，对提高
中国高轨卫星技术发展、拉动大型新平台尤其是东方红五号平台的关键技术具有重大意
义。
