I'm pleased to annouce we've settled on a date for our Spring badminton
tournament - Gator Smash.
It will be held on the weekend of February 26 (plan for two days) on

发帖数: 10373 | 10 FF和Nadal应该是不打不相识，相互竞争又相互尊重的．几乎每次碰头都会有精彩绝伦的演出，最满足的自然是击败自己的宿敌而夺冠．如果宿敌不战而退，即使夺冠了，可能心情多少也有点遗憾．
这让我想起了自己的第一次USTA tournament,那是2007年初的事情了，一个3.5的tournament，赢了三场后进入了sem-final.对手也是个老中，估计与我的年纪相仿．一开始他可能没有适应我的打法，我很快就以5:0领先，我自以为很快就会结束战斗，这时连在一旁观战的好友也对我笑了笑就起身离开了．唉，毕竟是第一次的tournament而且一路打上来都很顺利，经验不足啊！这时我就有点松了下来，反正也不想给人个bagel,结果就5:1,5:2．．．我还是不以为然，当对方追成5:3,5:4时，我开始紧张了，但对方已经打顺了，我却失去了自己节奏，最终很艰难地拖进了tiebreaker，才拿下了第一个set...第二个set，对方已经习惯了我的打法，我却还在为了第一个set患得患失，结果对方以6:3顺利拿下．第三个set,大家都take了break.我趁机regroup了一下．一开始就陷入了胶着的状况 |

发帖数: 30533 | 14 你3队一组，照样每轮必须有一队干等。同时，小组被淘汰的队只能回家。
最差情况，A胜B, A胜C，最后一轮B vs C都已经失去了意义。总体效率低于
tournament draw.
用tournament draw, 所有队都打3-4场比赛。你只需留够4场比赛时间即可。
用round robin, 最少需要5场比赛时间。
tournament两场比赛开始的同时，有两场QF已经可以同时开始了。
两场第一轮比赛未必需要后报名的4队打。Seeding应该抽签或者根据历史战绩。
比如有人明显只有3.0，就更有理由打第一轮。同时，来不来都是自愿的，如果
抽到第一轮不轮空又不愿意早到的，比赛作输掉处理, walk over. 还可以继续
打consolation draw. 两队全部迟到的话，从第一个到的队到达开始计时，15分钟
后另一对输掉。这些全是USTA规则。 |

我打了tournament后发现技巧和散打的还是很不同。
我再研究研究， 目前就是这种play money的tournament， 我都玩的不亦乐乎。 本来
就是娱乐么， 也不指望能赢钱。
如果play money也能卖钱的话， 更有动力了。我在facebook里面有一天晚上从2000
chips达到 1 million。不过应该是那里水平差的原因. 后来几天涨到8 million， 再
后来一天全部输光了。
前两天和一群朋友玩， $5 buy in, 生平第二次参加赌钱， 不过对手都比较弱， 最后
赢了$15.
第一次赌真钱是还不会的时候， 缺人， 被朋友硬拉进去凑数， $20 buy in, 很快了
没了。朋友黑吧。

never looked back. But we did go to AC for a group tournament about 8
months ago. $65 buy in. It was the first live tournament at a casino for
all of us. We knew next to nothing about texas hold'em back then. :)
One of us, Nathan, ended up finishing the 3rd. winning over $1000. and he
treated us for dinner. had a great time. but after that, all of us moved
to cash game ever since. |

play. When you have 20, 30 or 40 big blinds in your stack, and you find a
pair of Queens or Kings, you usually just want to play aggressively, force a
fold, or play a big all-in pot and hope things work out in the end.

刚刚被bad beat了，也上来发发牢骚。 FTOP event 10， AA被TT out drawn on river

离钱圈很近了，216刀就这么打水漂，将近两个小时的时间也白花了，是不是很
frustrated？
现在对这种bad beat已经麻木了。毕竟tournament是以小博大,所以更多的时候是让人
frustrated，然后偶尔给你一个big big excitement。所以打tournament还是不能太看
重结果，要有点游戏人生的态度，别把钱太当回事。要不然总想着第一名多少多少钱，
第二名会差多少多少钱，这样会影响自己打牌的决策。
拿了24万之后没多久又玩了一次sunday million， 打到还剩35个人的时候，我是第24
名，手里AA。MP opened the pot, 我3 bet to 8x BB, flop里面有两个草花，他all
in， 我call，他是9T草花，turn马上hit上另一个草花。哎，当时心里郁闷很长一段时

out，对别人read又比较准，那你对那些怕出局畏手畏脚的人优势还是挺大的。只靠打
live tournament为生几乎不可能，因为live 的volumen太小，没办法beat variance。

raised到600,BB smooth called, so did the other limper. Flop A 9 2 RB, ALL
checked to me. I bet 600, both called. turn was a K. BB checked, the other
guy bet 2300 (he was bluffing), and i pushed all in for 3800. BB called. The

AJ这种牌，打cash是好牌，打tournament 是非常危险的牌，要慎之又慎。
记住我的话，遇到raise这种牌最好丢了。很多人打tournament 都是死在这种牌上，被

在一所小学的两天围棋普及结束了，学生的年级从Ｋ到８都有。
学校的情况有点特殊——
上个学年普及过围棋，有的孩子学了一节课，有的学了两节课；
这个学年也一样，有的孩子学了学了一节课，有的学了两节课；
所以现在这个学校里面，学了一二三四节围棋的孩子都有了。
我在学校的走廊里面走过，结果被去年学围棋的孩子认出来了，
然后孩子们一路跑去问老师——是不是又有围棋可以学？
老师说，这些美国的孩子们实在是太喜欢围棋了。

Montgomery County had their first ever Senior Nintendo Wii championships
Wednesday, and it turned out that more than one grandma has game.
Winners of competitions across the four county senior centers met to play

发帖数: 572 | 34 有点伤心。 其实一向都很不在意输赢。 自己本来也是beginer， 没有太多期望值。
不过胡乱的打了一年多的球以后， 也就最近几个月进步稍微明显一点。第一次参加
tournament， 也第一感觉到想赢却不能的那种“痛苦”。
其实跟我自己比， 今天发挥还算很好了。 自己比以前进步了很多。 只是种种原因吧
，输掉了。
我的partner女孩， 我们在tournament之前只打过一次。 她性格可能稍微强势一点，
所以game以前给我讲了很多rules. 其中一个就是她不让我到后场， 让我只打前场。
我也同意了。 可是事实证明是个错误， 因为她其实在后场回球都很soft， 也比较经
常miss， 可是就连在场上， 她都一个劲的说让我stay in front， 所以感觉有点遗憾
。
另外就是， 其实我自己击球都还可以， 回球力度也还可以， 但是没有什么控制球的
能力， 不太会灵活控制落球点， 所以有些回球基本属于“太为对手着想“了。
不过组织者很nice， 居然给了我们一块"Encouragement Browns Metal"。 希望继续努
力吧。

发帖数: 11 | 38 Yesterday went to SG league tournament. Have met Tasita and fms. A pity not
saying hello to tasita due to hard games.
I played two games and lost one. fms won two, lihai.
I played white in the first game. Well leading to middle game but lost
concentration at last so lost.
The second game I played black. Not a easy game since the komi is 8. Finally
lucky enough to win 8 pts.
In this tournament each player has 75 min and no byomi time.

在一所小学的两天围棋普及结束了，学生的年级从Ｋ到８都有。
学校的情况有点特殊——
上个学年普及过围棋，有的孩子学了一节课，有的学了两节课；
这个学年也一样，有的孩子学了学了一节课，有的学了两节课；
所以现在这个学校里面，学了一二三四节围棋的孩子都有了。
我在学校的走廊里面走过，结果被去年学围棋的孩子认出来了，
然后孩子们一路跑去问老师——是不是又有围棋可以学？
老师说，这些美国的孩子们实在是太喜欢围棋了。
所以她打算在明年一月或二月的时候，举办一个围棋的 tournament。 |

it always feels good when one can shoot a good score in a tournament. most
people have no idea that shooting a good score in tournament is much tougher
than in a recreational round.

进去的怕受伤，状态好的又担心自己主力状态出太早反而影响三月疯。
泡泡队到此时只差1-2场赢球，需要联盟tournament前1-2轮的兄弟们高抬贵手。 |
