FAFSA doesn't count home equity, so for all federal aids, home equity for
primary residence don't go towords EFC.
For colleges that use Profile (for institutional aid purpose), some colleges
count, some don't (not limited to HYP). Even for those counts, there is an
allowance. For example, Stanford caps the amount of home equity considered
at 1.2 times the total family income. |
